Lila's running in the cold by: Devynne

Lila Cunnla always loved running in the cold. The snow that fell year-round where she lived was beautiful. Every flake lace together with intricate patterns. Sometimes if you were lucky you would get a colored snowflake and get good luck for life. Lila always wished to find one so she dicided to walk every morning so that she can take the time to look. This went on every year since she was 6 and she never stopped. Until one day when she was on her morning walk she saw a scarlet snowflake and ran after trying to catch it before it hit the ground and became useless. She followed the snowflake for hours and she finally had wandered to far and came to Firelay forest. Lila had been told to never go into the forest because of the evil the lurked inside the further you walked. She was always carful to walk till she got to the edge of the forest then walked back home, but today she was going to breack the rules and risk it all for good luck. One thing she didn't know was that that was the biggest mistake of her life and costs her her good luck for bad luck, very bad luck.
*Lila is chasing after the scarlet snowflake.*
"Come here silly. I'm this way." Lila says and keeps running after the flake. She comes close to grabing but misses by an inch. "Arg. No far. Come back here!" As she runs after the flake she wanders deeper and deeper into Firelay forest but doesn't notice till she looses track of the snowflake and looks around. "Wow. I better get home. I can't believe I didn't notice till now." She says and hits her forehead with her hand. "Stupid. Stupid. Stupid." she turns around in a circle. There are 5 pathes and her tracks had gotten covered up by snow as she had walked into the forest. 'I wonder wich way I should go? I can't see any tracks left. Hm. Geuss I'll try the one on my left.' She thought and turned left to get ready to go.
"It's not that way." Came a boys voice from behind her.
Lila turned around and came face to face with a boy about 12 years old. 'Hm. He's about the same age as me. Don't be rude Lila. Say something.' "Good morning."
"Goodmoring to you too." The boy said.
"I'm Lila Cunnla. An you are?..." Lila asked.

"Farlen Mizuko. Nice to meet you Lila. So like I said it's not that way." Farlen said.
"What are you talking about?" Lila asked.
"The snowflake. It went this way." Farlen said and turned the opposite way of Lila. "Are you going to follow or go home?"
"My mother must be worried but if you know where the snowflake went then I'll follow you." Lila said and walked up to Farlen. "I really want that goodluck."
"Ok then." Farlen said then grabbed Lila's hand and they started running the way Farlen had pointed the to. After a while Lila spotted the scarlet snowflake.
"There it is!" She said pointing ahead of them. She let go of Farlen's hand and raced ahead.
"Wait!" Farlen yelled after her. But Lila didn't listen and after a second she was falling. "Lila!" Farlen said rushing after her.
"Help!" Lila said.
Farlen came to a hole in the ground that had been covered by leaves and snow. "Lila!"
Lila's jacket hood had been caught on a root sticking out of the wall. "I'm right here! Help I'm stuck."
"I'm coming hold on." Farlen said.
"I'm not holding onto the root. My hood got caught on it." Lila said.
"Ok. I'm getting a branch try to stay still." Farlen said and ran to get a branch from one of the many trees.
"This woudn't have happened if I had stayed with Farlen." Lila mumbled to herself.
"I'm back. Grab on!" Farlen said lowering the branch to Lila. Lila reached for the branch but missed by an inch.
"Arg! I almost had it!" Lila said and reached for it again this time she was successful. "Yay! Now pull me up please."
Farlen pulled the branch as hard as he could. While Farlen pulled Lila kick at the wall with her boots pushing her self up. All-of-a-sudden they both hear a large CRACK!

"What the heck was that?!" Lila asked starting to shake.
"Don't act stupid. You know what that was now hurry!" Farlen said pulling even harder than before.
"What do you think I'm doing." Lila said finally comeing free of the branch. A second later she was pulled up and flung into the air. "Ahhhhhh, What the heck?!" She said landing on Farlen with a thud.
"Get off." He said voice muffled by Lila still laying on top.
"Sorry." She said and jumped off as quick as possible.
