Good idea: Check your anime dvd's

Post by Sakura » July 3rd, 2008, 9:31 pm

I hope everybody is having a nice summer vacation. Since I cannot afford a vacation this year I have decided to check my anime DVD's and copy them to "refresh" the data. Fortunately there isn't much of my stuff licensed here. It's an advantage not to watch fighting/ninjutsu, children, or mecha anime - these series are very likely picked up by a company.

For some episodes it's already too late, a small amount of 2 year old DVD's are suffering from the oxygen disease (the reflecting chemical is destroyed at the border of the DVD) and it's not been cheap ones. Should teach me to check my collection more often. Others are simply unreadable for no obvious reason.

So if you have some time left this summer make sure to check your (recorded) DVD's.

Thanks, I have to check my precious special collection as soon as possible. Oh my hundreds of DVDs containing educational stuff, it would be a shame if that was gone. Seems we need 500GB harddrives now for long-term storage. :/
