I was wondering, the item at them bottom right of the fountain pen picture, isn't that an ink cartridge? Perhaps I got the word "fountain pen" all wrong?

Ah yes, it is a cartridge loading, or pump type, it has a pump unit, the clear looking part with a black end. So you have your choice wich way you want to use it each day.
