World Views

Post by Kira » March 8th, 2008, 8:54 am

Well, I promised Sakura, that I would try and help the forum by making a few topics. Since Sakura and I got into chatting I figured I make this. Its a few hard and tough issues to tackle. I don't want this to be about hate, propaganda, and politics. I want this to be more about how to finally end intolerance. I can't believe how ignorant people still are in the US alone. So alright...

Well start by yourself and show you tolorate most things people will follow cause that's how people are they're just like sheep. I know it sounds stupid but that's how it works or at least here. i know there are exceptions but well you can never talk about everyone

:swt: that's not how it is here. Americans, from what I seen (only 17 years), can absolutely NOT change their views. They will see a person that tolerates everything and instead of trying to be more like that person, they will try and argue that the person is wrong. Even now I'm proving that point by arguing against your view (I know, arn't horrible!?)

Well, I wouldn't say you're arguing or even saying you're "right". You're stating a statement based on your own observation. Which I guess that is really all world view is. We all see and hear things through the media and we base our opinion of the world on that. I mean In Japan. They truly believe every single American has/owns/carries a gun and whips it out for any single reason or even absolutely no reason at all. After watching Dragon Wars, I now wonder what exactly Koreans think of us! lol.

Guns? I had a Daisy bb gun when I was about 12 years old, and I just bought an air rifle this year to target shoot with my son in law. The only guns I've owned.

My world view........ There is no such thing as gravity!
Dogs have owners, Cats have staff

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

ok question. are you basing that on your own observation or on an assumption? or did someone tell you their own thoughts on the subject of how Japanese view Americans?

Omg, Freya, watch Godzilla movies and other media. There in a manga, can't remember the title, but it has an American Kid in it, and he takes out a gun and threatens people. I even read it in a commentary that Japanese believe that a lot if not all American do own guns, its also because of the American Amendment and NRA.
