I admit the first picture looks a bit more impressive than the second. Machu Pichu?

Welcome back to this world. :thumb:

Ok, a few picts from our first day in Peru. We flew into Lima about 1:30 am, went to our hotel and slept, sort of, till morning, then had a tour of downtown Lima.

More next time, I have a real story to tell about out travels to the Amazon. I didn't think we were going to get there.

A story about life and death with a broken boat and many piranhas?

Well, we did go fishing for piranha, on my birthday, I caught the biggest one. Our guide said a group of Russians that he was guiding offered him 300 dollars to jump in the river with the piranha's and swim around for 5 minutes. He said that was a lot of money to him, so he did.

My travel adventure. We had a 4:30 am flight to Iquitos, and got to the airport in Lima about 2:30 am. When we got to the window to get our boarding passes, they could find our reservation number, but we had no tickets. They spent a bunch of time messing on their computer, and trying to talk to us in mostly Spanish......... after some time, our tour representative finally came over and was soon on his cell phone with the tour office. They did a lot of talking and typing and we ended up having to buy tickets. 4am we still didn't have our tickets, when we got the tickets, we ran through the airport, really, and got through security and taxes and onto our plane with only 5 minutes to spare. We were really thankful to have had the tour company rep to get us through that mess.

Oh, Amazon pictures......

Iquitos.... a city of half a million people, the only way to reach it is by boat or by air.
