Journey to Erehwon The game begins

Merenwen: You're welcome, Emiko.

*Merenwen turned to Bruce.*

Merenwen: To protect..? I never heard that before. But then again, I never really needed to protect someone. I guess everyone has their own way to see things. How do you protect someone with a sword? I wanna be able to see the good in everyone, you see? So I'd really like to know how you protect someone with a sword.

Tim, looking down: I think it's wrong to hurt other people.......... When someone hurts another person, that person tries to hurt them back....... Then soon you have a big fight. It happened all the time at home. In school, they taught us lots of ways to hurt people. I asked the teacher why, and he told me it was so you could defend yourself when someone attacked you. But people use the same skills to attack as they use to defend. So I asked him, If they are also learning to attack, wouldn't it be better not to teach them at all, then they wouldn't be as likely to try to hurt each other. He told me I was wrong, that you can only have peace if everyone is so strong that they can destroy each other. I tried hard to learn the lesson, but I just think they are wrong......... I don't want anyone to be hurt......... I don't want fiends who think it's right to hurt someone...... But I want to be Emiko's friend.........

*Tim looks at the three paths. Which way should they go? The map really was no help. Tim looks at the sign, to the right it says "Deadly Desert" that doesn't sound good. To the left, it says "Hades Hight" maybe not. The broken off sign to the middle trail says "....hope, all ye who enter here." well, hope sounds better.

Tim: We'll take the middle road, It must be the best choice. *Tim leads the band of travelers onward.* Rune, have you ever tried riding on a camel? It's lots of fun, and I'll bet Faelyn would like the company.

*Tim had noticed Rune seemed more tired than the rest. Tim didn't notice the broken off piece of the sign. It had one word, "Abandon".

*Rune smiled grateful at the offer of riding a camel, her feet really hurt and there was no way she was going to ride on Chichi*

Rune: I'd love to...thanks for the offer*Rune slowly got on Clyde and began to talk to Faelyn*

Faelyn: Rune, do you think we can ever really find Erehwon? I mean, I always thought it was just a story, and I never heard about anything like the data balls. ........... But I really want it to be true, I want to learn how to use my magic, I want to fly. I just can't seem to get anything right. It's so wonderful how you can make the water do things with you. If I tried that, I'd probably drown.

*Faelyn's little hand wraps around the locket the pixie woman gave her. Again she wondered what the woman had meant, that someday it would give her something she needed.*


*Tim stops the small band of travelers as the road leads into a very dark foreboding forest.*

Tim: Gee, this looks like a frightening forest. *Tim reads the sign, it says "Frightening Forest, travel at great peril". Maybe this path wasn't the best choice.* Ummm, I wonder if this really is the way to the plateau with the steel caves.

*Tim walks forward and reads the next sign, it says, "Yes, this is the right road, the steel caves are straight ahead. Plateau of the thunderbirds, 20km. Travel at terrible risk." *

Tim: Oh, hey, look it says the plateau of the thunderbirds is just 20km, we can easily be there tomorrow. We'll have to find a good place to camp for the night in this forest.

*Tim reads the next sign. "Beware the poison oaks." Well that should be easy enough.*

Rune: Of course it's true Faelyn. Somehow we'll all get to Erehwon and find our answers besides I think you just need a little practice. Chichi often makes me practice with him just so I can get my powers right and even then I still don't have full control over it. *Rune smiles softly at the little fairy* If I was a full angel right now I could really help you grant your utmost wish but maybe...maybe I'll just settle with helping you practice. I'm sure Chichi would love to get into those things again.

Chichi: I get the feeling we're not going to get a very nice sleep tonight. *Rune looks around and chuckles nervously.*

Rune: You have a point there...besides how do you think we could ever find a good place to camp in here? *Rune looks around and sees large looming oak trees with vines crawling over them, thorn bushes lining up the road and slithering creatures often passed the across the said road.*

Merenwen: Easy! I'd take a step back, if I were you, though.

*Merenwen clapped her hands and a great circle of fire surrounded her, burning away some of the oaks to make enough space for their tent.*

*Tim thought this opening in the trees, along the road, would do well for a camp sight. After unhitching Clyde he sets about getting the tents and gear off the cart. Thinking all the while about the great Rolls and sweets that he brought from the village. Tim's getting hungry.*

Clyde: Well, Morphin, I think Tim is just a bit too trusting. I get a bad feeling about this place. I think we should have kept going till we were past this woods.

Morphin: I'm with you, something smells wrong here. Maybe we should keep alert.

*Tim is happily munching on a jelly doughnut and spreading out a tent when Merenwen suddenly flashes a fire around her. Startled, Tim yelps and stumbles backward. Clinging vines, lying on the ground wrap around his legs. Tim yells out as he falls backward, and in moments, he's gone. Only his large glasses remain lying where he had been.*

*Rune is startled by Tim's yelp as she sees him suddenly disappearing. She cautiously approach the forgotten glasses and once she was in reach she took it of the ground.*

Rune: What the heck was that?

Chichi: Those vines had something to do with it. *Chichi floats towards the area where Tim vanished, hovering above it as he tried to examine the vines.*

*Rune followed suit after her soul companion but was stop when Chichi gave her a warning look.*

Chichi: Don't come near here. Anything those vines can reach they'll grasp.

Rune: But what about Tim? Is he going to be alright? Where did those vines take him? *Rune had a lot more question in mind but she decided she didn't really want to act like a curious Tim at the moment. *

Chichi: I'm not sure either. *Chichi looks at the others.* Does anyone know about these kinds of things?

* Notices some of them looking at him. *

Loki: ... what? I have nothing to do with this, I swear!

[Raine]

*chin notices that it's very quiet....blinks*

Chin:where's tim???

*looks around*
Chin:this place gives me how do you humans say um chills??
