Dinky and her husband spent five hours bailing pails of water out of their basement. Their sump pump wasn't working right. Proof that working hard and being overly stressed at 8+ months doesn't necessarily induce labor. She's tough, for a small girl.

I would suggest Dinky and Tall guy get everything out of the basment and keep everything out of the basment for the next week. It is suppose to keep raining for the next week.

Earlier this summer we couldn't get any rain. Now it won't stop raining. Maybe I souldn't have prayed so hard for rain?

If you saw his video studio setup in the basement, you wouldn't suggest such an impossibility. They need more pumps.

We have stopped the basement leakage!
......at least, we hope............I just spent 6 hrs cleaning it all up, it better not flood again. And yeah, like oldwrench said, not really possible to move the stuff out. Heehee, we're kinda packrats.... :shy:

Got caught in one heck of a storm while driving dad downtown. Visibility was down to 10 meters tops and the streets were flooding so bad that I had to "go with the flow" so the distributor wouldn't get wet (that would have shut down the engine and believe me, downtown Barranquilla is not where you want to be walking around when the streets are flooding). Just made it home, thanks God, but this rain really screwed my plans for the evening...

Life keeps shoveling @#$%& my way. Now my video card went crazy, showing millions of colors EXCEPT the ones is supposed to show. Took it out and started the PC on integrated video chip and now Ubuntu's X Server (the thingie that manages everything shown on screen) locks up and won't start. And I need a couple of Gb of very important files from the ext3 partition, too... It's gonna be one of those nights, I guess...

That sucks,, if you burned your origional ubuntu install on a cd, you could try booting and running from the cd. It sounds like your video is trying to run from settings for your vid card.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we missed you. Whenever anyone goes away for an extended period of time I think that we miss them. I know I worry about people when they are gone for a while... although i've been here very infrequently lately so I'm probably not the best person to be saying that...
