*The next engagement was a wash. Though Tan had managed to score two points, he'd made a poor choise when moving away, and Lara had scored tow points. Now the score was eight to nine, Tan knew they had to score twice without losing a point. He noticed there was some problem with the right leg of the other mech, that could be what he needed. We have an opening,Vanilla, I think we can win. This time, we attack. Tan faked an attack to Lara's right , then quickly slid to the left. Lara took the fake and moved hard to the right, then tried to reverse direction and move left, the right knee failed and her mech started to fall. Tan took the advantage and slapped her left arm away and struck sith the left then right arc stick, then jumped back.*

Maythen: Winner, blue team, Tan and Vanilla. *He smiled, that was quite a turn around. The boy was a good pilot, and his IC showed a good natural feel for the machina.*

*Tan parked the mech at the side of the field and turned to help Vanilla out of the tank. He was surprised, he expected Vanilla to be wet, or slimy, or something, but she emerged as clean and dry from the strange fluid as she had entered it. Tan was sure she must be worn out. It was difficult to be an IC, and he had made things much more difficult to begin with.*

Tan: Thank you, Vanilla, you did great. I knew you would be good at this.*Tan felt his ears turning red as he quickly turned to look at what the commotion was down on the field.

*Lara found the mech wouldn't move, so she parked it and jumped out of the cockpit. She was fuming. Ran scrambled out of the IC pool and was right behind her.*

Ran:What the hell was that? I thought you knew how to pilot.

Lara: Pilot?? I can pilot just fine, if I had an IC that was worth a crap. Half the time I couldn't rely on you to move, and you're so slow, I can't pilot if I have to wait for you're sorry ass to move. You're worthless.

Ran: You were wrecking it with your stupid jerky movements. You can't beat a Machina like that you stupid bitch, especially when it's flashing a warning. You haven't got the brains to pilot a tricycle. *Ran turned and stalked off the field.*

*Tan jumped down from his mech and got in front of Ran. He didn't like what she said. Tan didn't know why, but he just felt he had to do something about it, like this concerned him.*

Tan: You shouldn't say things like that about Lara, Ran. She's a good pilot, maybe the best of us, but this is new to all of us, we're just learning.

Ran: Hah! You should talk. you wouldn't know a good pilot if you saw one. You wouldn't have had a chance against me if that brainless idiot hadn't broken our mech. You're useless as a pilot too, little boy.

Tan clenched his fists: I am not! I made mistakes, but we learned, we got over them and got better. I can pilot a machina.

Ran laughed: Maybe you can, but you'll never be any good unless you find a decent IC. *She looked at Vanilla.* She isn't worth your time, she'll just drag you down.

Tan closed his eyes: you're wrong, Vanilla is my friend, she is a good IC. You'll see, she's special.

Ran: You're stupider than I thought How could you be..............

Victoria: That's enough now, both of you, get back with the rest of the students.

* Ryu watched the commotion in silence. He was too nervous to try and say anything funny at the moment. Ursula poked his arm while looking at him with a worried face. *

Ursula: Are you ok?

Ryu: Erm... yeah, I'm ok, don't worry...

* Ryu looked at the Soul Finder he had selected. It looked kind of old, but he had taken a closer look and noticed most of important parts where brand new. *

Ursula: Are you sure about taking this one?

Ryu: Yeah, this one will do.

* Ryu helped Ursula into the IC Pool, then jumped into the cockpit. He looked at the controls while strapping himself in. The controls are simpler than Aura's... maybe this won't be so bad after all... *

Maythan: The next round will be Ryu Kamau against Vincent Larken! Same rules as last fight!

* Ryu breathed deeply a few times. OK, calm down, you can do this, Ryu. He made the mech stand up slowly, keeping an eye on the readouts. When he tried to take a step forward, the mech staggered. *

Ursula: Calm down, already! I can't hear you over all the noise!

Ryu: Sorry! This is harder than moving only the arms...

Ursula: Just concentrate on what you want to do and picture it. Don't order the mech around, instead, just ask him to move along with you.

Ryu: Where did you learn that?

Ursula: I don't know, I'm making it up, but I think it's better than just panicking and yanking the controls like you want to rip them out.

* Ryu smiled and closed his eyes. *

Ryu: Yes, you're right. Let's try this again...

* Ryu tried to take another step, successfully this time. It still feels heavy and there's a lag in the response, but... it's better than before, yeah. *

*Vanilla went to stand next to Tan again.*

Vanilla: Thanks for putting up with me. I'll get better, and then we can have another go, okay? And don't let anything she says get to you. You're great.

*Vanilla smiled and turned her attention to those who were getting ready.*

Tan: I thought I knew how to pilot the Machina.......... but I was wrong. It's so much different than anything I'd done. I made things so hard for you, Vanilla, but you just stayed with me. Then...... I never felt like that, like everything was alright. I'm glad I got to try with you, Vanilla. I think it works best, with a friend. *Tan chuckled* Looks like Ryu has to learn that too.

((So sorry guys! *Bows* Had a lot on my plate. I spoke with z2k, I'm giving him and Raine Right control Robert, since he is suppose to be close with the school staff. Also with the holiday coming, I might be even more MIA, so z2k has totally right control of Vince, if the story is at a stand still))

*Vince watching the others fight, just kept silent the whole time, he would glance through the corner of his eye to Ryu. His fist clutching. He didn't wanna do this. Suddenly the last person of their group joined him*

???: I guess where the last to go huh. Hi I-

Vince: I could careless your name. You choose.

*The boy looks and finds the last mech that wasn't used*

???: Guess that one will do *he chuckles*

Vince: Fine good enough. I take you'll be the IC

*The boy looks excited*

*Vince runs inside and jumps into the concept*

Vince: What heck do I even do?

*Boy was already inside the IC Tank, trying to make a connection to all three. Vince felt weird. He just moved the controls. To his surprised it moved. Wobbled a little, but it moved*

Vince: Alright, this should be easy, right?

[Zeratul2k]

* Ryu took the batons from the stand and moved to a side of the field as Vincent got ready on the opposite side. Victoria looked at the two mechs and gave the start sign. *

Ursula: OK, let's do this!

Ryu: Hear, hear!

* Ryu started rushing towards Vincent, but tripped and his mech fell to the ground. The board registered one point for Vincent. *

Ursula: What? What happened?

Ryu: Sorry, sorry, I don't know why...

* As Ryu made the mech stand up, he noticed he had struck himself with one of the batons. On the side of the field, Victoria shook her head and looked down while holding her face with her hands. *

Victoria: This is painful to watch...

Ryu: Ok, enough of that, time to get serious!

Ursula: Is that right?

Ryu: Yes!

* Got to be more careful, that was just plain uncool... he thought as he took a fighting position. *

*Vince couldn't help but smirk to himself.

Vince: Guess your not as cool as you thought.... Still, he knows his stuff...okay, Walk

???: Think of these things as more as horses than cars. These mech can response on their own, you job, like a horse it to make it go in the right direction.

Vince: Right.

*Vince takes another step, it moved a lot this time, he gets close to Ryu*

Vince: Hey, Ryu! Need a hand?

*Vince knows he's getting cocky*

Vince: Calm down, he still knows more about this than you do.

Ryu: Yeah, let me know if this hurts.

* Ryu made the mech jump forward, swinging the batons in a circular motion. The first one hit, but Ryu had taken too much speed, making the second hit with his arm, rather than with the baton. *

Ursula: Wait, wait! Move aside!

* Ryu tried to do as Ursula told him, but lost his balance again. He spun on the ground and stopped several meters away from Vincent. He made the mech stand up again. *

Ursula: Stop charging like that!

Ryu: Why? It's working, see?

* Ryu pointed to the scoreboard, which now showed Ryu 1 / Vincent 2. *

Ryu: ... or maybe not...

Ursula: Now pay attention, try not to move too much. He can't move too well either so it's not speed that'll win this, but rhythm.

Ryu: ... what?

Ursula: Yeah, let's dance!

Vince: Well then you take over! If you know so much!

*Suddenly inside the cockpit everything goes red and orange. Vince has no control. The boy is quiet, the mechs eyes seem to actually come to life. It charges blindly at Ryu. The Baton hits Ryu mech. At the same time the Mech isn't watching out its surrounding, When the mech had swung, it almost hit a few of the students.

Vince: Hey! Alright, thats enough watch it! You listening to me! Hey!

[Zeratul2k]

* Ryu saw the mech rushing towards his and tried to block, but the response lagged behind. He moved aside as fast as he could, trying to get some distance between Vince and him, but the mech charged towards him again. *

Ryu: The hell?

* He was struck again, and this time he lost balance and the mech fell on his back. Ryu winced when he took the fall and when he looked up again, Vince's mech was ready to hit him again. Crap, can't stay here! Move!. And it happened. His mech rolled to the side and threw one of the batons at Vince's mech chest as it did so. The scoreboard showed Ryu 2 / Vince 4 as Ryu maneuvered the mech to stand up again in a defensive position. *

Ryu: What was that just now?

Ursula: I told you, we are dancing!

Ryu: But it moved before I touched the controls!

* Victoria took a look at the charts. That couldn't be, must have been a glitch or something... but there it was, and the mech moving was proof enough. In the overall synchronization chart was a lone huge spike. Beginner's luck, she thought, let's see you doing that again, Ryu. *
