On with the topic of the thread, I have a networking mid-term tomorrow and I was just informed that it's going to include way more material than I thought it would. I smell an all-nighter coming...

Another mid-term, this one is half-impossible (they gave us the weekend to work on it, go figure).

But no worries, because the impossible one is next week, and they'll give us 15 days (that's right, TWO FULL WEEKS) to work on it. Somebody shoot me... several times...

Our hospital's switching over to an entirely new (and ridiculously intricate and complicated) computer charting system. It goes live on July 11th. On that day, EVERYTHING must be charted in this new system. And remember, in health care, if anything happens and a pt decides to take whoever was involved to court, the chart is the ONLY thing that can potentially save your butt. If it's not charted, it wasn't done. Worse yet, if it's charted incorrectly, it can TOTALLY screw your butt and you lose your liscence (not to mention the obscene amounts of money the courts can award the pt that YOU have to pay out of pocket- can we say bankruptcy??).
And how much training have they given us for this completely brand-new and very confusing system?
Eight hours.
Yes, you saw that right. Eight stinkin' hours. Four of which (for me) were taught by an incompetent idiot. Thank god the last four were taught by someone who not only understood the system, but also knew how to teach people, otherwise I'd be totally clueless about how to even log on.
*INSERT LOUDLY SCREAMED STREAM OF SWEAR WORDS HERE*
On the plus side, I get to quit in a little over 2 months. The end of August can't come soon enough. Let's just pray I don't get sued before then.

In Europe we call this process: ISO 9001.

It's especially designed to help those companies whose employees do not now how to spend their time. Sounds pretty much the same.
