*Daiki sat looking up at the stars. The elders said they had sent him, because he would do what was right....... Daiki thought of gentle Kimara, she's a dog demon, and yet, here he was ready to fight against his own kind to defend her. He'd given her his promise....... but more than that, she was.......... It had seemed so easy before, but now....... What was right?*

*Mike had e-mailed to the mysterious person who had helped him before. Again he got an answer in only minutes. Mike hacked into the Zero level system and found the location of the agent watching Minoru.*

*Minoru sat in a booth at a bar, half way across town from his apartment. It was late evening, but he was afraid to go home. He'd seen Mike and Hideki training, he had no illusions about his chances against him. He'd called his sister and several others of the family, no one knew anything, but there were factions of the family they didn't know about. One was his father. He'd warned Chisato to get away, hide out somewhere. Suddenly a shadow fell over his table.*

Mike: What answers did you find, Minoru? Where is she?

Minoru didn't look up: Nothing, I found out nothing. I tried, I called family, but no one knew anything. I couldn't find everyone, but they didn't do it, it's not like them. *Minoru tensed as the shadow loomed larger.*

*Mike sat down on the bench across from Minoru. His gamble had failed. Minoru hadn't found anything. what if it wasn't the Tsuchimi family? Now what would he do, he had nothing. Mike put his head in his hands.*

Mike: Why did this happen? Just when I thought things would be alright. Why would anyone want to take Aki? If it wasn't your family, who could it be, why would they do it? Now I don't have anything, how can I possibly help her now?

*Minoru blinked, was this the same madman that scared the heck out of him earlier? He sure didn't seem like the Mike that threatened to destroy them all. Minoru watched Mike get up and start to leave. He couldn't say why, but he wanted to help...... Maybe it was because he still felt like Mike's teacher.*

Minoru: Mike. I'll try to talk to the others, If I find out anything, I'll let you know. You know, her family is pretty rich, maybe it's someone trying to get some ransom money. I hope you find her.

Mike didn't turn around:........ Thank you..... sensei. *Mike left.*

*Aki felt a little disoriented when she opened her eyes, she didn't know what time it was or even if it was day or night since there was nothing to gauge any kind of estimation. She wiggled and sat upright. It felt like she had slept for a long time, she felt a little stronger and her stomach wasn't grumbling. She stared off into space trying to think of something...a plan to escape.*

*Daiki made himself comfortable as he threw a glance inside the dark room just to make sure that Kimara was sleeping. He looked back at the stars. He didn't feel sleepy but he felt tired. His mind was filled with all kinds of questions and few of them had answers. What had Fumio-san meant when he said he would do the right thing? If he was asked what the right thing before he had spent time in school he would have responded by saying that Aki was supposed to be with her kin but now...now, not only had Aki shown that she would much rather like to stay away from the clan and with her friends he, Daiki mused, had also a problem pertaining a certain dog demon. He felt a myriad of emotions when he was with Kimara. Sure he still liked Aki and would probably still be with her if she asked but Mike was there and that seemed to be enough for the little kitsune and then he had this uncontrollable urge to protect Kimara from any kind of danger and this possessiveness that reared itself when other boys seemed to eye her.*

*A pulse cut off his thoughts effectively and Daiki sat upright. He waited for a few seconds wondering if he imagined the...There it was again! Another faint pulse that spread around his body. There was a force beckoning him and he knew what it was. Elated he followed the 'feeling', he knew it would lead to Aki.*

*Blue light glowed and surrounded Aki's body, it was faint and flickering but it held power. The choker brace around Aki's neck sizzled against the magic she was using and great surges of electricity racked Aki's small frame. Her breathe came in shallow and irregular and the once crimson eyes were now gray. After the short but strong use of power Aki slumped on the wall her eyes narrow slits as she took in her blurry surroundings. The brace was still sizzling but something glowed underneath it. It glowed blue and that was what Aki wanted. The possession mark Daiki placed on her would help Daiki locate her. She was still trying to regain regular breathing, without much success, when a big headache hit her. She tried to raise a hand to massage her throbbing temple but her arms would not cooperate, they felt like jelly.*

Aki, whispering and wheezing: Fi--find...m-me...pl-please....Mike...Daiki... *Aki clenched her eyes shut and bit her lips through the pain of the aftershocks. She wondered about the merits of dying rather than going through this twisting pain and the unwanted fear of the Osamu kitsune. She didn't know if she would surrender to that sweet voice urging her to let go and just go to sleep...forever.*

*Daiki hid from sight as two patrolling guards did their job. He surveyed the building where the 'feeling' was directing and he saw the dozen guards posted up front. He a swish off to one side of the building and he turned his head to get a closer look. What he saw made his insides clench. It was a KITSUNE! Lazily propping himself on the wall of the imposing building was a kitsune! Those Tsuchimi (Daiki still suspected the Tsuchimi) bastards had the gall to hire KITSUNES to do their dirty work for them! Claws that yearned to feel the sensation of slicing through skin showed as Daiki reigned his temper. He assessed the place, determined to use logic and strategy. And with much resentment he knew he could not enter that damn building alone, admitting to himself that if he was foolish enough to even try he would be ripped up to shreds(or worse...) in under a minute. So with great reluctance and utmost silence Daiki retreated. He would not wait for morning, however and promptly made his way to the Ayashi Residence to report to Kyo. On his way he pulled out his cellphone and called Mike(Aki inputed his number).*

*Mike was sitting in his room, unable to sleep, when he got a call from Daiki. Mike told Daiki to wait for him in the park near the Ayahi's house, before he went to see Kyo. The sky in the east was just starting to lighten as Mike headed for the park. Mike called Hideki and told him to meet him at the park, he didn't give Hideki time for questions.*

*Mike met Hideki at the park, he didn't have time to tell Hideki much when Daiki showed up.*

Daiki growled: What's he doing here?

Mike: I called him. You said you couldn't get in alone, we need the extra help.

Daiki glared at Hideki then looked at Mike: Help? From his kind?.... They have her in a big place, about ten k out of town. The place has a wall around it and armed guards...... And they've hired bastard kitsune.

Mike: Are you sure she's there? Did you see her? How do you know?

Daiki: I put my mark of possession on her, it connects us...... I could feel her, she's there. *Daiki realized what he had said and looked away as Mike's look darkened.*

Mike: Possession? I don't like the sound of that. Aki didn't say anything. *Mike pushed the thought away, no time for that now.* Don't go to Ayashi-san. He'd just call the police, and then they'd get Level zero people. *Mike looked at Hideki.* They'd want warrants, and papers and all that....... Then they'd start another war..... We'll do this ourselves.

Daiki looked at Mike: Not with him. Not with a damned Tsuchimi. I'm not ready to get stabbed in the back by one of those bastards...... They should have killed them all, long ago. I should start with this one.

Mike: Calm down, He isn't with his family anymore. He fought against them.

Daiki: That time, it was his woman he fought for. This time, who does he fight for? You'll see, he'll turn back to his clan. He's a Tsuchimi. *Daiki crouched, his his claws bared as Hideki took a fighting stance. Mike got ready to jump between the two when suddenly they all stopped at a voice from behind Mike.*

Voice: It wasn't the Tsuchimi's.

*Mike spun around and saw Selene step out of the shadows. Selene hadn't slept all night, she had been going to tell Mike what she knew, when he had left for the park. She followed him here. Mike notice Selene looked distraught, she had been crying.*

Mike: Selene? Why are you here?........ What is it, what do you know?

Selene looked sadly at Mike: It's not the Tsuchimi, it's my father.......... it's Genesis, the group my parents belong to. Last night, I accidentally overheard him talking to someone on the phone. When he left, I forced my mother to tell me what is going on...... everything. They hate other races, and don't believe in genetic engineering, they believe they can create the perfect human race through...... selective breeding. That's why my father kept trying to get me to be friends with you, Mike. They want us to....... *Selene looked away.* to make children for them. They wouldn't let anything get in the way. They told my father to get rid of Aki........ to eliminate her. He couldn't do it..... he hired someone to kidnap her. They took her to the headquarters, outside of town. There are some there who want to just kill her, that's why my father went there. You should hurry. It's a large building, two floors, it has a central area with a north and south wing. There are more kidnapping victims there, people who weren't part of their group, people they keep captive for their breeding program. They are kept in rooms on the second floor. The lower floor is the offices and library and other rooms. The central area has the main entrance, there are doors of the ends of the two wings. They are Keeping Aki on the second floor of the south wing, in a room they use for people of other races that they have captured to.......... experiment on. *Selene turned away.* I don't blame you for hating me now....... I just hope you can save Aki. *She started to walk away.*

*Mike took a couple steps and put his hac on Selene's arm, holding her back. Selene looked up at Mike, tears running from her eyes.*

Mike: Thank you, Selene. You've been a great help to us. We have to hurry now, but, I'll talk to you later. *Selene gave Mike a small smile and nodded as he let her go.*

Mike looked at the others: So...... guns and kitsune magic. *Mike smiled.* We're going to get Aki back....... our way. I've got a plan. We have to get Rina and Kunikida........ Kimara too. Let's go.



*Osamu opened the door and leered at the small girl. Maybe the foolish humans idea wasn't so bad, she would bear very special kits. Maybe he would just keep her for himself. She looked delicious in her thin night cloths. She was sitting back against the wall, it made her look even more small and vulnerable. He really enjoyed them small, and young. He loved to hear them scream. Aki looked frightened. He would take his time, play with the little kit....... he could build her terror till she would scream so sweetly for him.*

Mike: Hideki, go get Rina, Daiki get Kimara and I'll get Kunikida. Hideki's apartment is about in the middle, lets meet there as soon as we can.

Daiki: Hey, who made you the boss?

Mike looked at Daiki: I've got a plan..... if you have, let's hear it.

Daiki: Well, no, I don't have any plan........ alright, we'll go along with yours........... I don't think we should get Kimara involved, I don't want her getting hurt.

Mike: She'll be safe, I want a diversion...... It will work better with two people, she and Kunikida. They won't be getting inside so they'll be safe.

Daiki: Well..... alright, but if she gets hurt, you'll regret it.

*It didn't take long for Mike to get Kunikida to the meeting place, and soon Daiki and Kimara, then Hideki and Rina showed up. Daiki was still insisting that he should inform Kyo that they knew where Aki was. Mike relented and told Daiki that as soon as they were on there way, he could call Kyo and tell him everything, there would be time before they got there. Now the next problem was to find transportation, Mike didn't see any taxis around.*

*Kelly didn't like how things were going. Somehow Mike was able to find out where the Tsuchimi's were, and she didn't like it. Last night Mike had found Minoru again, she almost ordered the surveillance officer to step in....... This morning, he had met with Hideki and that kitsune boy...... then that tall girl from his class, the one who's dad was with the genesis group. Then the boys had taken off so no one could keep up with them. Now they were all at Hideki's. Something was going on, if Mike was planning to attack the Tsuchimi's, she had to stop it. Kelly pulled up to Hideki's place and got out.*

Kelly: Hideki, what's going on? What are you kids planning?

*Mike stepped between Kelly and the car.*

Mike: Great, everybody get in the car. *Mike looked down at Kelly.* We're going to a little, rescue Aki, party, and you aren't invited...... Thanks for bringing us the car, we'll bring it back later.

Kelly: HEY! You can't take my car..... What do you think you're doing.

*Mike pushed Kelly back and got behind the wheel and slammed the door.*

Mike: Mike: Yes I can, and I will. *Mike started to pull away.*

*Kelly tried to reach in and stop Mike, but he pushed her out.*

Kelly: Wait!!! You can't leave me here like this.

Mike called out as he pulled away: Call someone.

*Kelly stood and watched them leave, she shouted after the car.*

Kelly: You've got my F***ing phone you idiot!!!!!

*Aki blinked as light flooded in her prison, thinking it was Aida with food or something else she looked up expectedly only to feel fear crawl on her skin at seeing Osamu. He was leering at her again and Aki instantly felt sick.*

Osamu: Hello my sweet little wench, I've come to have some fun. *Aki cringed. Osamu grinned evilly.* Now, now...why the frown my sweet? I'm not going to hurt you. *When Osamu was in front of Aki he leaned forward and his beady black eyes pierced Aki, holding her in place.* Not yet anyway.

*Summoning up all courage and energy she had Aki glared defiantly at Osamu. His grin fell and he narrowed his eyes. He grabbed a handful of seagreen hair and yanked it down, tipping up Aki's face more. And without warning he smashed his lips to hers. Aki kept her lips tightly closed as Osamu's lips pressed harder. When Osamu withdrew he was scowling, Aki was glaring at him. Then she spat at him.*

Aki: You... you coward! You're a bastard and a COWARD! Fo-forcing you-yourself on me! And I'm bound! You have no backbone you jerk! *Osamu let go of her hair and stepped back. Aki felt a little victorious.* You're a-afraid of me, a-a-aren't you! *Aki hated the way her throat closed as she spoke but she gave a smug grin.* You're afraid of a highschool girl! You can do all those threats because I'm bound and I can't use magic! *Aki saw Osamu's eyes narrow and his scowl deepening but paid no heed to it, her fear had pushed her to taunt him, to delay whatever he intended to do.* Y-you could ne-never do that if I wasn't bound!

*In a quick second the thing the bound Aki was gone and she was shoved to the wall. A clawed hand was at her throat and her back throbbed from the collision.*

Osamu: You stupid little wench! You think taunting me will help your situation? I don't think so...now I want to break you, break that spirit of yours, break that mouth of yours...break that delectable body of yours...Now let's- oof!

*With all her strength Aki kicked Osamu in the groin. And the kitsune doubled over she pushed him away and ran for the door. Unsurprisingly it was locked.*

Osamu: Little bi--tch...

*Aki turned around and went into a fighting stance. She wasn't sure if she would win if she fought him but she needed to delay whatever he had in mind. Osamu stood up and purposely advanced towards her, his eyes trained on her. She hoped that Daiki and the others would arrive. She refused to believe that no one was going to rescue her, after all she need all the hope she had. *

*Osamu tried to get her but she was too fast, she had went from one corner of the room to the other in a blur, eluding his grasp. He wasn't a patient kitsune and she would find that out. And he realized she was delaying. She knew he was stronger, so she used her speed. She was playing a game with him and that infuriated him. He was not in the mood to play chasing games. Using a spell he had paralyzed her legs and she tumbled down. He fought off her struggling and flailing arms, she had tried to scratch him but her blunt human fingernails didn't even hurt. He trapped her underneath him and a whimper escaped her, that delighted him. After a while he would hear her scream.*

*Mike pulled up a short distance from the building. They surveyed the area.*

Mike: Ok, this is the plan. Kunikida and Kimara take the car up to the gate. Tell them you're from the school newspaper, that you heard all about genesis and their eugenics program and that you're going to write an article. That should get their attention. Make a fuss about getting in. Hideki and Rina go to the north door, Daiki and I will go to the south. Hideki and I can handle anyone with guns, Rina and Daiki can take care of the Kitsune's magic. Selene said there are people held captive on the second floor. I want to get free them all. Hideki. start on your end and send them out the side door, we'll check the south end. I want to get Aki out before they can react. If we do this right, by the time those guys realize what's going on, Kyo will have the police here.*

*Kunikida waited the amount of time that they had figured it would take the four to reach the wall. He drove up to the front gate and got out.Kunikida almost laughed at the sign that read "New Beginnings Rest Home". Kimara joined him as he pushed the button by the gate. Kunikida told the story to the person that answered the intercom. He pressed the button again when he was cut off, he started to get very loud, telling them he knew what was going on there and that he would expose them.... Kunikida rattled the gate and yelled that he was going to drive through if they didn't open up. That's when he saw the guards hurrying over from several directions. Kunikida grabbed Kimara and ducked behind the wall.*

*Daiki was lying on top of the wall, watching, he signaled Mike when the guards moved off, and in a moment both boys were at the side door. Mike hoped Hideki and Rina made it alright. One sharp blow broke the locks and the boys jumped into the side entrance, they quickly took the stairway to the second floor.*


*Kelly held the young man up against the bus stop wall as she grabbed his cell phone from his hand. She quickly dialed. Damn, the guy thought, what's with her? He looked down her lean form...... If she'd just asked nice, I'd have been glad to let her use my phone.....*

Kelly: Samuel! You have to bring a car, right now, one with a gps tracker............ No, those stupid kids stole my car, and my phone's in it........ Quit laughing, damn it, it's not funny. Their going to start a fight with the Tsuchimi and we have to stop them. *Kelly let go of the guy and handed his phone back.* Thanks.

*In a few minutes, Kelly was in the car with Samuel. She located her cell phone on the tracking device, it was a short distance outside the city. There were no Tsuchimi out there. What the hell were those kids up to??*

*Osamu dragged the girl back to the bed, he tied her hands together over her head, he tied each of her ankles to opposite sides of the bed. Osamu licked his lips, he'd had enough with her games. He was pleased with the fear in her eyes. Osamu slid a finger down the side of Aki's face and across her throat.*

Osamu: Perhaps it's time to find what treasures my little prize has hidden away. *Osamu hooked a claw in the neckline of Aki's pajamas and ripped the front down.* We'll just see how sensitive you are........ be sure to scream if it hurts. *He grinned evilly at his bound victim.* Don't worry princess, I'll make sure you bear fine kits.

*At the top of the stairs, Mike looked through the window in the door. There was one seated armed guard, and one Kitsune in the hallway. Mike slammed the door open and went for the guard, Daiki was right behind him. The guard didn't have time to draw his gun before Mike's big fist put him out. The kitsune was farther down the hall and sent a magic spell to bind the two. Daiki almost laughed, the weak magic of the kitsune was no match for the magic Daiki used to block it. Daiki slammed into the kitsune at a dead run, and after a few furious seconds left his adversary unconscious on the floor. Mike and Daiki started to unlock and open doors, they found several rooms occupied, they told the people to get out the side door. Mike wondered how things were going with Hideki and Rina, had they run into any problems........ Daiki stopped at one door. His keen scent had detected the one they sought.*

Daiki: Mike! This one, she's in here, and it's locked from the inside.

*In the room, Osamu removed the paralyzing spell and watched Aki try to kick free. He wanted her to struggle, to try to fight him. He ran his hand up her young body and touched the band on her throat. Osamu lessened the spell binding her magic, just enough to give her hope. He wanted her to think she might free herself, might be able to save herself from being raped....... But if she tried to hard, the pain would be terrible........ then she would scream for him. He would make sure she screamed, when he hurt her. Osamu started to climb over the struggling girl.*


*Mike checked the locked door, he told Daiki to get ready, and he stepped back to kick the door open....... *


*Samuel slid the car to a stop just behind the car at the gate. Kelly jumped out with a gun drawn and ran to the gate aiming at the guards there.*

Kelly: Open the gate.... NOW!

*One guard tried to draw his gun. Kelly fired and the guard spun around screaming, clutching his arm.*

Kelly: Samuel, get this gate open. *Kelly saw people coming out the side doors of the building. Where were the kids?*

Kimara looked down the road: Kunikida, I hear sirens..... it must be the police.

*Aki felt the magic lessen in the binding spell and she tried to use fox fire to burn the ropes that bound her, the shock that shot up to her body elicited a scream that came out as a choking sound when she tried to cover it by closing her mouth. Osamu laughed and proceeded with his intentions.*

*Only to be rudely interrupted by the door squeaking in its hinges then falling off completely with a loud 'clang'. Osamu whipped around, still straddling Aki. The little kitsune craned her neck to see Mike standing at the door, Daiki behind him and hope soared through her. She was saved!*

*Daiki's eyes widened when he peered inside. The room was made mostly of metal, it was slightly dark with no utilities. His gaze scanned the room and fell on the twitching kitsune on top of the bed. A closer look and he wasn't just on top of the bed...he was on top of Aki! Aki, who was bound to the very same bed with the half of her pajama top ripped open! Blood pounded in Daiki, that bastard wanted to...to rape Aki. His eyes glowed red and he almost lunged in, claws ready to kill when he felt a very menacing aura near him. His eyes fell on Mike. He couldn't see the big guy's expression since Mike was in front of him but he couldn't exactly be smiling.*

*Mike rushed through the door, with Daiki right behind. But the mage had had enough warning, with a hand gesture, both boys were slammed against the wall, black bands of magic pinning them there. Osamu got up and sneered at the two.*

Osamu: So, the big fool of a body guard and you must be her kitsune lover boy. Come to rescue her? How touching. You came just in time to watch me take her, *Laughs* with your possession mark still on her. *Osamu turned back toward Aki.* Did she scream in pleasure for you boy? Now you can watch her scream for me...... Before she watches you die.

*Osamu spun back around. He couldn't believe it, the tall human was straining, pulling away from the wall, breaking the bands. He sent a stronger binding spell, but it only slowed the boy. Osamu backed across the room, no human should be able to do that. He tried again to wrap bonds of black magic around Mike, but Mike only pulled harder, breaking through the bands. Osamu backed against the wall, he put his strongest protection barrier around himself...... It must be the girl. He never should have loosened the band.*

*Suddenly the whole building was filled with the sound of alarms.*

*Aki saw Mike pull away from the wall. Aki knew she had to get Daiki loose. She concentrated, and blue foxfire glowed around the bands holding Daiki. Aki felt like screaming, she grit her teeth, she wouldn't let Osama hear her scream. Daiki felt the bands loosen, he added his own magic and broke free of the spell. Aki relaxed, tears in her eyes as Daiki quickly started to untie her feet. Daiki saw the black collar around her throat, and reached for it to rip it off.*

Aki : No! Stop! If you break it it'll kill me.

*Daiki stopped.... he had to do as she said..... he started to untie her hands.*

*Osamu had to stop this human monster that was slowly pushing back his protection spell. He saw Aki slump down, she must have worn out, or fainted, now was his chance. He conjured a powerful spell and blackness wrapped around Mike. Mike fell to one knee, it felt like all his strength was suddenly gone. Mike felt his hatred burn, he willed himself to stand...*

*Aki saw the blackness around Mike, Osamu would kill him. She had to protect him, no matter the cost. Aki groaned in pain as blue foxfire wrapped itself around Mike. Mike felt the blackness disappear, and again attacked the dark field protecting Osamu. Mike heard Aki's groan and quickly looked over at her. Whatever happened to him, he had to make sure Aki got away.*

Mike: Daiki, get her out of here. I'll hold this guy off, just get her away.

*Aki tried to protest, but Daiki threw her over his shoulder. He knew Mike was right, AKi couldn't take much more, the magic, and this damn band were draining her. But without her help, how long could the big guy hold out? Daiki headed out the door, but down at the end they had come in he saw an armed guard and a kitsune blocking his way, he had to try to get out the main entrance. Daiki turned and sprinted for the central entry way. The guard fired at Daiki, Daiki yelled as the bullet tore a furrow along his arm. Daiki had reached the railing around the circular opening just as a second shot sizzled past his head, just above Aki. Daiki hear a shout "Don't shoot, you idiot" Daiki jumped over the rail and landed heavily on the stairway landing, it was hard with the extra weight he carried. He had to reach the front doors, once outside he'd have room to get away. Daiki looked up just in time to see the kitsune vault over the rail and fly straight down toward him.*


*As several police officers spread out around Kelly, putting handcuffs on the guards, the alarms in the building went off. Kelly looked up and saw at least a half dozen armed men exiting the front door...... worse there were four kitsune. The kitsune streaked off in different directions. Damn, if they got to the police, with their magic, things could get messy. Kelly wished she had her armor. suddenly she heard a voice behind her.*

Voice: Just take care of the humans, we will take care of our own.

*Several kitsune warriors sprinted past Kelly, arrows already in their bows, the tips blazing with foxfire magic. Kelly looked around and saw a kitsune elder along with Kyo and Ai. gunfire broke out from the building and police officers returned fire. The battle was over in seconds, Samuel and Kelly were to accurate, even at this range. Three men lay on the ground and the others had thrown their guns away and stood with hands over their heads. Two of the kitsune were down with arrows through them, and the other two were kneeling with their heads on the ground. The fight out here was over, but where were the kids?*
