* Hideki and Kunikida looked at each other after Rina closed the door. *

Kunikida: Yes, Hideki, why do you have to be so violent?

Hideki: It's my motto, man, "If you can't solve a problem with force, you're not using enough."

Kunikida: Figured you would say that...

* They both started walking towards the station, where Kunikida would take the train home. *

Kunikida: So, how are things going with her?

Hideki: hmm?

Kunikida: Come on, don't play dumb. You were alone with her in that apartment for a pretty long time...

Hideki: Oh, we weren't alone.

Kunikida: How come?

Hideki: Shouko stopped by, then an old friend of mine.

Kunikida: Ah, so that's why Rina and Shouko ran off, eh?

Hideki: There you go, misunderstanding as well. She's just a very old friend, last time we saw each other I was 6.

Kunikida: How old is she? Is she cute?

Hideki: She's two years older than me, if I remember correctly. And... yeah, I guess she's cute.

Kunikida: Introduce me!

* Hideki laughed and patted him in the back. *

Hideki: Sure thing, let's go tomorrow after school. I have to talk with her about a job.

* Hideki and Kunikida parted ways at the station. He left towards the apartment, opening the door and walking into the living room once he got there. He found a big package with a note, he picked it up and read it. "Here's your clothes and computer. Heard you've been running into problems again... strangely, mom is not worried as she normally is when you get in a fight, but dad is still angry so I guess she's just trying to calm him down before worrying herself. Oh, and by the way, there's homework for tomorrow and I'm gonna call you so make sure you have it done." It was signed by Minoru. He shook his head and took his school bag and the package. This was going to be a long night, doing that homework... *

*Mike walked between the two small girls. A few days ago, he couldn't even have dreamed he would be with one cute girl, much less two. They left Kimara at her street, and Mike walked Aki to her front gate.*

Mike: Aki: I know you are very good with your magic, but I would feel much better if I could walk you to school tomorrow. Until this kidnapping problem is resolved, we need to stay together.

*Walking to school with Aki would truly be a pleasure for Mike.......... Mike hurried to the school and retrieved the security cameras from the shelf. Mike was careful not to be seen by the cleaning staff while he put cameras in all the halls and stairs, cameras in Aki's home room, and His home room. There were a couple extra cameras that he put back on the high shelf. Mike set up the programs on the computer for face recognition learning, in a couple days it would be able to alert him in case of any stranger around the girls. Mike headed back to his room, he wanted to talk to his forum friend Yuki again, maybe she had some more advice for him. He also wanted to check if the military had sent him any information on the Tsuchimi family.*

*Aki had greeted her mother and headed to her room. When she was inside and the door was closed she left her bag by the door and she threw herself on the bed, sighing.*

Aki, muffled by the bed: What is happening...Rina-chan in trouble, even Tsuchimi-sempai. *Aki rolled over and stared at the ceiling.* Even me? Well Michael-kun will escort me tomorrow, I guess that's one good thing in this big mess. *She sighed again before getting of the bed and plopping down in front of the computer, she turned it on and signed in into her favorite forum. The name "Yuki" appeared a few seconds after under the label ONLINE MEMBERS.*

*A knock on her door then it opened and Ai peeked in.*

Ai: Hey, Aki...

Aki: Yes Mama?

Ai: Do you want to eat?

*Aki looked at her mother confused, then she shook her head offering a small smile.*

Aki: If you don't mind Mama, I don't think I want to eat tonight.

*Ai went in to hug Aki and left with a kiss on her daughter's forehead.*

Ai: Alright, Aki...just please be careful. *Ai whispered the last part.*

*Aki stared at the closed door, it was weird. Usually her mother wanted all three of them present when eating meals, especially dinner and she often got annoyed if one didn't show up. It was after all family bonding and nothing was more important to the Ayashi family.*

*Aki had started typing when she smelled smoke, she turned around and saw that her bag was on fire. She stood up and was by her bag in a second, spilling all the contents on the floor Aki saw the letter she received earlier, the stamp it had was emitting smoke. Aki scowled, she picked it up, opened it and fished the letter inside, sat down by the bed and read it.*

Aki: That jerk! How can he be so conceit! *Aki huffed as she crumpled the letter and threw it, it bounced of the monitor and rolled back towards her feet. Aki sighed.* And he's right too, two things that can never bode well for any being. Conceit and being right.

*Aki shuffled around her room.*

Aki: No how did that spell go? Ah- yes! *Aki got her scissor, a pen, a paper and a piece of tissue. She pricked her finger with a slight wince and let a couple drops of blood soak up the tissue. Then she drew a circle on the paper, in the middle she placed the blood-soak tissue, then she placed the paper on the floor. A slight glow and Aki nodded. She went to her closet and retrieved a jacket. Then to her window and jumped out of it. She turned back to see the living room light open. Surely her father was home, and her mother...That's why she did that containment spell, so they wouldn't miss her presence.*

Aki, whispering: I'll be going Mama, Papa. *And she was off to where the letter indicated. Pulling the jacket closer to her as the wind picked up.*

*Inside the Ayashi residence two adult kitsune demon looked at each other. One had a calm expression and the other a scowling look.*

Kyo: Shouldn't we follow her?

Ai: She put up a containment spell, didn't she? That means she wants to go wherever she needs to go alone. *Kyo was about to protest some more but Ai shot him a quelling look.*

Kyo: Fine...

Ai: Don't worry, the spell I put on her is still there...if she's hurt I'll know and we'll rush to her rescue, alright?

Kyo: Yea...but are you sure you don't know where she's headed?

Ai: Yes, I'm sure...I don't know where but I think I know who she's going to meet.

*Mike finally got back to his apartment and quickly got onto the internet with his laptop. He was happy to see his friend Yuki was online..... but she didn't answer his messages. Mike was a bit disappointed, but Yuki said she was in school so maybe she had some homework to do. Mike decided to send a message and wait for her to reply.*

*Mike told Yuki that he had tried the things she had suggested. He had given the girl a flower, he was sure she liked it, but then the day got a bit crazy, he even got to hold the girl for a few unforgettable moments. He did get to spend time with the girl, they had lunch with friends and spent some time in town shopping. Mike told her that it was easy to be kind to her friends, since they were his friends too. And he had made them laugh, but probably more because they thought he was rather dumb about things.He didn't have a clue how to be interesting and funny. (Mike made it a point not to mention what had happened in the clubroom, Yuki might get upset at him.) Mike told Yuki he was going to walk with the girl to school the next day, and asked if she had any more good advice he could follow. She had been so right with her advice so far.*

*Next Mike turned to the messages from the military. They were very happy with his execution of his order to this point, but Mike was disappointed because they refused to release the files on the Tsuchimi family, it was highly classified.That was the problem with a lot of information covering the race war problem, it was top secret. Mike felt he was going to have to work blind...... until he opened a message marked Capt Tanaka, urgent. The message had no sender's name, but it told him he now had top secret clearance and gave him a password to the military's files. It also told him that if the military refused any of his requests, he should inform them at his address, they would take care of it.*

*Mike tried the password and soon had access to the top tier of military files. A search through the file system found the name Tsuchimi...... in the research division files. This was getting interesting.... Mike opened the file, marked Spartan, and started reading........ This was getting very interesting.*

* Kelly rolled out of bed and picked up the phone, still half-asleep. She waited for the cypher software to sync the call then started speaking. *

Kelly: What is it?

???: We got something. I don't know if it means trouble but you should check it out anyways.

Kelly: Again, what is it?

???: Someone is digging up info on the SPARTAN project. Whoever it is seems very interested on John-117, too.

Kelly: How did they get in? they did hack into our network.

???: Nobody can do that, you know that. They used a level Zero login.

Kelly: Level Zero? Then what's the problem?

???: It's not from anyone in our division. We are tracing it right now, but it might take time and he's using a hopping connection. Oh, crap, there he goes again...

Kelly: Whatever... what's the login name, I'll try to get something from Sierra-Alpha.

???: It's Tango-Oscar-Mike-1-1-6

* Kelly wrote it down on a notebook on the nightstand. *

Kelly: Ok, I'll see what I can do. Try to send him dummy files or something.

???: Ah! Too late...

Kelly: What?

???: He disconnected. Couldn't trace it. And he already had the files I told you about before I called. It didn't raise much suspicion because of his login level, so... anyways, the ball is on your field now. Ja ne!

* Kelly hung the phone and sighed. This wasn't going to be an easy mission but then again, they never gave her easy mission. She was an SPARTAN, after all. *

[Raine]

*Kisane sat on the couch,her head in her hands,her mother walked in the room and sigh*

Kisane'smother: when are you going to tell her?

Kisane:about what mother?

Ryu:about casting that spell on our daughter/...*Ryu entered the room*

Kisane: It's for her own good...she will be sixteen soon....

Ryu:They've found out kisane and i want that boy to know!!

Kisane:Why ryu???so they could be disgusted!!!i can't have that!!!

Ryu:she has a right!!!it's my blood!!!why did you marry me then despite of my origin...

Kisane:I didn't know you were half demon!!!what's more your blood is from something more terrifying then races....Rina is a descendant of that it makes me

yu:DIsgust?...you knew well kisane....but now that they know our dauhter is very well mixed with different blood...they wil wait until she get sixteen to attaing that rare blood...

Kisane's mother:even if you restrict that demon's power she will use it eventually....even if it's not strong Rina for them is a perfect weapon....

Ryu:Having the elves,demons and even Humans is rather tiresome....

kisane:Even her friend is in danger...kitsune are also...*kisane break down in sobs...Ryu wrap his arms around her*

*Mike was fascinated at the information in the spartan project files. Officially, the project was abandoned, many years ago, but it was continued, as a black project. They were trying to develop human super men, to use in case of war against the others. The project had been a failure, but some people hadn't given up. The early attempts had created deformed and often insane monsters, that's why it was abandoned. But they had persisted, and through careful genetic manipulation and breeding, had improved. The first true spartans were either strong but rather dumb, or very intelligent, but quite weak. The new generation was the next improvement, in fact, they had apparently achieved their superman, John-117.............. Hideki Tsuchimi. His mother was one of the researchers in the project, his fother was one of the subjects, though he had no Knowledge of the project.......... There was a lot of information, Mike would need to study this for a while, but that explained a lot of things about his friend.*

*Mike was about to exit the file system, when another file caught his eye. Mike was curious, so he downloaded the file before quitting the system. Staying on to long might let someone trace his position if there were some problems. While he waited for Yuki's reply, Mike opened the folder marked Star Child..... and started reading.*

*Aki rubbed her hands together as she scanned the park. It was already dark, shadow and light playing. This was where the letter said he would be. The wind picked up again and Aki hugged herself. She scowled and scanned the area again. Where in heaven's name was Daiki?! He was the one who said that she should be here by 7:30...she glanced at her cellphone, it flashed 7:50.*

Aki, muttering: He's already twenty minutes late! *Aki ground her teeth to keep her from screaming.* If he doesn't arrive in two minutes I'm leaving...it's freaking cold out here.

*Aki felt the wind whoosh by her and felt the air knocked out of her system as she found herself staring at the star filled sky. Then she was faced with glinting green eyes and a mischievous grin. Aki scowled.*

Aki: Get off me, Daiki!!! *Aki thrashed but Daiki remained on top of her, she was no match for his weight.*

Daiki: Now, now dani...

*And Aki panicked. She was under Daiki, pinned, unable to move, she was defenseless. In fact if Daiki would like to kill her he could do it without sweat. Aki bit her lip, a Kitsune's greatest allies were deception and the element of surprise. Daiki already had the element of surprise, if she could just deceive Daiki into letting her go...but how? What will--? Aki hadn't even realized she was breathing hard and short, the fear of being killed getting through her guard, her eyes were wide with panic and she was trembling as her mind raced for a solution, a trick of any kind to get her out of this situation.*

Daiki: Oi, Aki...snap out of it! *Daiki gripped her shoulders and slightly shook her. A worried expression slipping on his face.*

*Aki focused her eyes on Daiki and blinked. What the--?*

Aki: What?

*Daiki stood up and lifted Aki with him, she was pretty small of a kitsune.*

Daiki: You were hyperventilating...and I'll have you know that even though I'm good at magic I suck at medicinal things.

*Aki pursed her lip and her eyes slid away. She didn't want to look at Daiki, she didn't want him to know that she was hyperventilating because she was afraid that he was going to kill her. No that would make her look weak. And she would never, never let him know that.*

Daiki: What were you thinking?

*Aki looked at those green eyes, worry was evident in them. But was it real worry? Or was it another plan?*

*Daiki saw the suspicion and hesitation in Aki's eyes and sighed. It wasn't like he didn't deserve this, after all when they were younger he used to tease and bully her. Daiki winced at the memory, there was even a time when he caught her at a bad time and he was just so angry that he almost killed her. She had looked at him with so much fear that he almost puked when he realized what he was doing.*

Daiki: Look, I won't kill you, I won't even try. *Aki's eyes widened for a while then they turned back to slits.*

Aki: Why should I believe that? That could very be a lie and you'd kill me once I put my guard down!

*Daiki ran a hand through his hair, mussing up the inky black hair. He was annoyed by the fact that she wasn't listening to him or that she wasn't picking up the signs. He didn't want to kill her, he didn't want to hurt her. He just wanted her.*

Daiki: Dani *The insult was sharp and harsh, Aki felt herself flinch.* I don't want to kill you...or hurt you or do any of those things I did to you back then. So can you just please listen to me. A war is about to break out, no matter what others may say, there are those who'll do anything to make a war happen. And you, with that half-elf friend of yours and the human with you are in danger, understand?

Aki: I don't--

Daiki: Shush! You are wanted by the Kitsune race to fight for them, the elf girl is wanted by her own race but only for a weapon, and that human...

Aki: Which one? *Daiki shot her a scowl for interrupting.*

Daiki the one that's usually with the elf girl...

Aki: Tsuchimi-sempai?

Daiki: Yes, now stop interrupting. That human is something else, I've done research about the boy. His family background is vague when you search through civilian information. But do you know when you hack into military memory, that Tsuchimi's mother is a scientist and not a normal one too, she specializes with human weapons.

Aki: Human weapons? Like guns and swords and stuff?

Daiki: No, no, no! Human weapons as in humans being genetically altered to be weapons! They're experimenting on live humans and DNAs. And do you know that the Tsuchimi boy you hang out with is a test subject?

Aki: You mean...Tsuchimi-sempai is--

Daiki: Yea. Now you listen to this. This war that's going to happen will divide most of the races and possibly this'll be hardest on half-breeds...because it's either they will be hated by both their bloods or both races will use the half-breed as sacrifice, the latter is most likely true for your elf friend.

Aki: How do you know all this Daiki?

Daiki: I've done my homework of course...so now you have to choose with whom you are going to fight.

Aki: I'm fighting with my friends.

*Daiki scowled and before Aki could react Daiki was behind her, one hand was restraining both her wrists, his other hand by her neck, the claws on his pointer and middle finger pressing into her pulse. And he was nipping her ear.*

Aki: What the heck are you doing!

Daiki: Claiming.

*Aki's eyes widened as the claws pushed in her skin and he bit harder on her ear. A second later he let her go. Aki whirled around to glare at the kitsune demon with her, her hand pushing against the wound on her neck.*

Daiki: Whether you like it or not you, Ayashi Aki, are under my protection. I am your alpha and you will submit to me when needed until I do release you from binding.

*Aki winced as the wound healed, it left a small marking on her pulse point. A blue fire with an intricate little fox weaving in it.*

Aki: Damn you...release me from the spell now, you bastard! My parents will see this!

Daiki: I'll personally see to them about it. *Daiki turned around and waved goodbye.* Well, Ja dani!

*Aki sputtered and gave a death glare at thin air. Then she pulled her jacket closer, the collar hopefully covering her neck. And she went home.*

Aki, muttering: Look on the bright side Aki...at least now you know more about Rina-chan and Tsuchimi-sempai.

[Raine]

*Rina couldn't sleep,she sat on her bed and hugged her knees,she was feeling frightened as if she just heard a terrifying news.The sound of her door opening didnt reach her ear,even the presence of her mother sitting beside her was not acknowledge till she felt her wrapped around her mother's arms*

Kisane:Im sorry!!!im sorry!!

*Rina's body froze in shock,her mother crying,her mother saying sorry to her,she didnt usually would show that much emotion,she pull back from the hug gently looking at her mother smiling*

Rina:Mother...calm down...you were right as always,i was being selfish trying to fight alongside with my friends but all i did was give them more fights,all i can do now is assist them in the club,please don't protest they are my true friends......i know we can do this together

*Kisane stayed silent she was about to tell her about cassting the spell on her,but her daughter was in enough pain already,and this is the right choice..sealing all that would harm her*

Kisane:You can stay with the club,but be alarm......*Kisane gave her daughter alight kiss on her forehead,smiling she stood up and walk out the door whispering a goodnight.Rina covered herself again in her blankets,this time she slept well.Kisane went down the stair to face her husband,he look at her with a distant look*

Kisane:I couldn't tell her...

Ryu:i understand,Kisa...were you ever in love with me?

Kisane:really Ryu...my head is tired what is al...

Ryu:you would'nt have married me if you knew i was half demon....it makes sense...you married me to defy your fathers wishes...

Kisane:Ryu...what do you me-*the shutting of the door as ryu walked out of the house lay kisane in shock,she look at her mother suprised to see her shaking her head*

Kisane's:I despise that kid kisane...but he married you for love and you deceive him....*she walk out*

*Mike checked, still no reply from Yuki. Mike was starting to get a little worried, why would she be online and not answer..... did something happen to her, Mike got a bad feeling..... With everything else going on, Mike didn't need more to worry about, at least he knew Aki was at home, safe.*

*Determined to wait for a message, Mike went back to the file named Starchild. It was a file about himself, a whole record of how they found him. At first they thought he was one of the spartan project, and one of the crew had been hiding him aboard. But that idea was absurd, how could you hide a child for a year. Mike skimmed over piles of data, of tests of genetic research, and of charts of progress. At the end of many pages were notes by some of the scientists..... and some military commanders. They didn't know his total physical capabilities, they kept increasing with age. Mike was a good student, and learned everything quickly. Mike would be a valuable asset in case there were any trouble with the spartan project. They were certain that he could handle even John-117, if they wished to bring him in or terminate him. They were also certain that the conditioning they had done made Mike totally loyal to the military corps. They needed to find a suitable subject to mate with Mike, they must know if his genetic structure could be reproduced. Mike's DNA sequence was very human...... but the multi stranded redundant nature of his genes proved that Mike did not originate on the earth. Mike's genetic makeup may be the key to the true human super race.*

*Mike was more than a bit stunned....... he was nothing more than another tool....... another weapon, to the people who had raised him.*
