The only good thing about this is to see the people riase up against it. It shows that people won't take the erosion of their rights without a fight.

On another note I just saw that Germany passed a law banning all Violent video games. (Any violance agains a human or human like creature)

Sakura, do you know where your server is hosted for your MMOG?

Interesting article showing how (as suspected by everyone except the Supreme Court) the 1.9 million USD the jury awarded the recording industry in the Jammie Thomas case may be unconstitutional: http://techdirt.com/articles/20090618/1950315285.shtml

Of course, taking into account previous rulings, there's no such thing as "constitutional" to the Supreme Court when the myth of copyright is presented to them.

This article (although not news) gives a very interesting (and easy to read) insight on the state-of-the-art of space travel and the current theories that could "get us off this rock". Very recommended, if only for the amusing "Star Trek-style Warp Drives may be possible" stuff: http://gizmodo.com/5247705/why-we-need- ... nd-we-will

Nope, there's no law like that in Germany (yet).

However, the censorship ('stop sign to fight child abuse') as well as politicians who try to blame 'killer games' and even paintball for a brutalisation of the youth exactly shows the depth of efforts of our government for a better society. I know other countries have much much worse problems than Germany though.
