While I doubt that anything will change for anyone outside the US, no matter who will win this election I still hope you're having a nice election day.

Germany has a female chancellor I hope the US will see a black president. And I sure hope it won't be a Star Wars president (see picture)

Colour nor gender nor hairstyle nor cuteness should be a factor someone gets or doesn't get voted.

So I voted for Obama, but only since this Sakura person was never a real option. :meh:
Also keep in mind it's Obama/Badin or McCain/Palin, and the president isn't necessarily voted by the country's majority. Quite an outdated voting system!

Obama's not really black per se. He's just not as white as the other candidates. His mother is white, and his father is Kenyan. His stepfather is Indonesian.

I agree that gender, race, and good looks shouldn't have anything to do with it....... but they do, very much. Since the advent of television, the looks of a candidate have had to much to do with it.

the first of the TV debates between candidates was J. F. Kennedy vs. R Nixon 1960. In polls of people who only listened to the debate on the radio broadcast, Nixon won by a large margin. The polls of people who watched on TV showed Kennedy won by a large margin. Kennedy definitely looked better than Nixon.

Money decided every election so far and Obama had twice the $$ of McCain so he might really win.

I think I'll send him... a cigar or so.

Gz Obama. 67% of all votes that's a 2/3 majority that can decide everything.

Well, I made it to Milwaukee. Long trip, took us 8 hours. Actuall driving time was about 7 hours.

Obama didn't win by that large a margine in popular vote, only by a 52% to 46% margine. Don't need to make it sound worse than it was.

I'm not giving a political statement here but - not to talk about Obama - I'm very, very glad not to see McCain winning. Now we have a chance to end the war which was illegally constructed on lies and perhaps we're able to unite to fight the climate change in a few years.
I'm glad to see so many voters in the US. "We" thought the democracy was on the lose in the US. Gladly it wasnt. They also sent a large amount of lawyers to overlook the use of voting machines this year which is a very good thing since all electronic voting results are impossible to be attested.
Perhaps in 10 years I can visit California without fear, without being treated as a criminal or giving up all my personal information for 70 years after my death. Before 2001 I always wanted to visit the US. Leningrad was cool, too.
