Did you all miss me?

I've been out of town for a few weeks, but I'm back now. It's an annual trip I make to California for Covenant Players' training. It's always a little tough being away from the family, but it was a good trip this year.

Home for the weekends? Not all the way to Michigan, no. But I always stay with a good friend from the church we attended when we lived in California (she's generally off in Uganda during the month of July, but we actually got so see each other this year). And we've got one of those family-share plans for our cell phones, so I could call the wife and kids any time for free. That helped.

The trip itself was my annual trip out for Covenant Players' training (we just redesigned our website at www.covenantplayers.org). The summer training involves performing plays three nights a week, and at intermittent times at the drop of a hat during classes. I was in three plays, two of which went on the same night.

Not much more to relate, other than the 5.4 earthquake we got the day before I left town. Wasn't that spectacular - no buildings knocked over or anything. But at least we all felt it that time.

He was visiting the neighbors garden.

As you can see from his photo he's a turtle.

It apparently took him a while to find back home :gg:

Welcome back Ntoonz. Hope you had fun. Were you anywhere near the earthquake?

Nowhere near. Simi Valley's about 50 miles from the epicenter. But we did feel it. Felt like a truck going by - a very, very long truck, like those roadtrains in the Outback. I didn't feel any of the 30 some aftershocks that followed it that day, though.
