A few weeks ago I met the girl of my dreams. Unfortunetly she is just that, a girl I met in my dreams. Why does real life have to suck so much sometimes.

It leaves us to the respect we get as nerds, like when were working on x-mas eve so fathers can go to celebrate with their children. or people who are using their application with that 90 line SQL statement inside you needed 3 days to code and people thank you for your genius. i got a chocolate bar (and an expensive one) this christmas for coding a 290 line application including the comments (uploading a database to the i-net at a mouseclick) i really liked to give it to someone but, well thats another story for another post here (running out of time)

I got the girl of my dreams. Then when she dropped me for the guy of her dreams, I wound up marrying the rebound girl. I doubt I was the guy of my wife's dreams, either, but I've turned out to be a pretty good project for the past 20+ years.

Ya, sometimes the right thing just happens. I saw the girl of my dreams, at college, but she was sitting with another guy. I found out later that he was just a guy from her home town. After seeing her go out with several different guys, I figured she didn't have a regular boyfriend, but with half a dozen or more guys following her around what chance did I have. One day when she wanted an ice cream cone but didn't have the money, I lent her the dime. Best investment of my life, I'm still collecting interest. ...... A few years ago, I found her old diary in a box of our stuff I was cleaning out, paging through, and remembering those days, I found the entry of that day. She said, "I finely got to meet Don today, Wow.". Here I had been skulking around in the background wishing I was good enough to meet her, and all the time she wanted to meet me. I guess guys just need to get up the courage to say hello to girls.

And Olray, I feel for guys like you. My son works Christmas eve and day at IBM. He says the others have families at home and he's single so he stays at work so they can be with their families.
