Harry Potter - I think Harry Potter is only meant for anime.

Doctor Who - Would just make an amazing transition to anime

There's a ton of good old scifi novels that would make great anime.

uhm....i don't know if i'd make harry potter an anime, I KNOW i would make the abhorsen trilogy into a freaking kick@$$ manga!!! omg! i can see the designs in my head! *drools*

Sabriel would make an really cool anime series!

1984 by George Orwell would make an excellent anime movie, IMO.

Also, I agree with Kira on Doctor Who and nominate Scrubs for a manga, although I think there's already a manga out there about medical comedy/romance.

I wouldn't make Dr. Who an anime, because then David Tennant wouldn't be there anymore Unless of course they start with the older series... Then it would be okay. Not sure about harry potter either.. I would like the his dark material trilogy as an anime (not as a movie, which they're doing anyway and it's not even called the northern lights like it's supposed to be called).

Three books by Allan Dean Foster would make some good anime. The Alien characters would be great, and the story is very interesting. the series is called The Damned, book one is A Call to Arms, book two. The False Mirror, book three, The Spoils of War.

A group of aliens land on earth looking for allies in a war that has lasted a thousand years. They are fighting a race that can control the minds of others. They land on an island and meet a young man who has gone there to get away from everyone. To their shock, they find humans have developed to be stronger, faster, tougher, and more ruthless than any species they have met. They are shocked to learn that our world has many nations and we are very often at war. We are very good at war, even if we are primitive compared to them. Could humans be what they need to end the war, or might we be worse than their adversaries?

Now that oldwrench dscribed that one, I remember another book that would make a good anime. I don't remember the name, though, but it's about an alien especies that tries to take over the planet. The story is set on the late '30s so the humans use WW2 equipment while the invading especies uses 21st century kind of equipment. At first the war is very one sided but soon people realize two advantages over the invaders: numerical superiority and advanced tactics. It was a really good sci-fi book, will see if I can get it again from my uni's library, just to catch the name.
