As a beam of light starts to illuminate a darkened stage, I take my place on center stage. Tapping on the mike for the appropriate echo to resound, I scrape my voice and start blabbing:
"Well, I'm mriq. Been here on this little spec of dirt, slingshotting through the known galaxy, for about 29 years." An animated drop of sweat starts to form on my brow, as I realise nobody seems to be listening. "HEEEEEEELLLLLLOOOOOO?" The silence is destroyed and some people in the audience finally start to acknowledge my mere existence.
"Well", I continue, "I've been an anime addict for most of my adult life, and a huge part of the younger years as well. Although, nowadays, I don't get around to watching much anymore, for lack of time and other interests, I still try to pop in here now and again, just to keep up with current trends, and look into how Akari, errr, I mean Sakura, is doing."
"In my real life, I tend to the boring job of Software Architecture & Business Requirements Analysis, but I hope your opinion of me won't be sullied by that fact. It pays the rent."
"My extra-anime hobbies include reading books, playing games (card, board & computer), the occasional painting, etc... You can already tell I'm quite the geek. Thank Sakura for small favors that the anonymity of the web conceals those qualities about my person. Or did I just ruin that part as well? Ai, baka desu!"
"Well, I'll leave you with a word of advice, which probably symbolises my life the best: You're only young once, but you can be immature for the rest of your life..."
