Ohai.

I joined back in May, and didn't bother posting anything. I gotta say, despite how dead this forum seems, it's still nice to see a small scale one up and running.

Admittedly, I only joined because I was searching for old online friends, and found oldwrench on here. We used to both be on the dothackportal forums awhile back (over a decade, at this point).

In my thirties now, and despite not watching much for awhile (long story), I started watching new (to me) anime the beginning of last year. Despite the overall lack of activity, I'll probably still pop in once in awhile. : p

Cheers.

Meow and nice to meet you. Oldwrench's friends are my friends :gg:

Seriously, I'm very worried about oldwrench. Haven't seem him for a year and I really, really, really hope he's fine and it's just his grandkids keeping him busy...

Hard to believe: AAW will be 25 years old in 2026. Of course, it's a shame that we won't be able to celebrate this event with our old friends from the forum. Even if not a single post is received here, I will still keep the forum operational. It's a reflection of what the world of anime was like in the early 2000s. With fansubs, very slow internet connections and a dedicated community that certainly played its part in the acceptance of this Japanese art form.

Maybe you can say hello once a year, just to check if the forum is still working?

Hey there! It's cool to see a forum still in operation! A lot of folks don't think about it but it's really important to keep this stuff up even if only for archival purposes.

This is evidence of our fandoms back in a different time and it actually saddens me that some of the forums I used to use are inactive or outright gone now.

Some time ago, some of the former members arrived here and participated for a few days. As the responses were very slow with so few users, they naturally lost interest very quickly.
If AAW were a car, it would be a classic car from next year and would receive tax benefits

Not to be morbid, but he's still kicking, if that's what you're concerned about. I sent him a PM in May, and he replied.

Gotta give you respect for that! Tbqh, I miss the way the 'net was in the 2000's. It was such a a different vibe, lol.

Wow, that's good news. Thanks for sharing. I do miss him (and his cat girls) but as long as he's healthy I'm fine.
