Aaww, that sucks, it would have been awesome to see 5 Minutes published :p

I really hope you can get better soon, Sakura! And Dinky, wouldn't watching some of the anime again help?

I really don't think my writing is good enough to be published, but thanks anyway Sakura. Dinky's book is a treasured piece in my collection.

I may even get finished with 5min some day

My old computer broke!!!! Arrrghhhh. Went to turn it on today and nothing...... no lights nos sounds, just that eerie dead feeling. Crap, now I have to go to best buy and see what kind of power supplies they have in stock. I don't want to wait for days for one to be sent online. Good thing I have this laptop now.

You would lose, dear one, I may be as dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to software, but hardware is something I know about. This was definitely a hosed power supply....... I'm back using the computer right now. After a trip to best buy, and to pick up shipping supplies for SHE, I'm out 80 bucks but have a nice new corsair 600 watt supply.
I just can't understand why that old antec would have died, it only ran for 8 years.

Oh, this new one is spooky quiet too.

High catness, low power loss rate (or whatever this efficiency factor is called) I got a corsair 600W, too.

Edit: Olray told me, in order to exchange the fan of your power supply you need to remove the power cord and then turn on the computer until all USB lights turn dark. Only then you should open the case. Otherwise you can get a very nasty electric shock. He recommends additional safety measures, too (gloves).
I'm just meowing in case you try and fix the old power supply or exchange the fan for a quieter one in a few years.

Darlin', I was working on old TV power supplies before Olray was born. Those CRT supplies could top 40 thousand volts..... ouch. And high voltage capacitors could still zap you a long time after pulling the plug. (Ya, I came from the vacuum tube days.)
Also, I've been working around live ignition systems on cars for over 40 years, some of those can top 45 thousand volts at 100 watts. (talk about welding your zipper to the fender!!) So, ya, I know about getting zapped by power supplies.
I might just do a bit of digging around in the old antec supply, see if I can find a bad solder joint or something. Without technical schematics, it would be to hard to trace any bad components. Plus, it just isn't worth the time on that old box.

I was actually going to guess that his grandkids had unplugged the computer and that he had not noticed it. But I would have been wrong also. :gg:
