How's SHE and the kids, Gpa? I hope you don't catch the bug, too.
So, Wednesday, my husband decided to go tubing on our river with two of my cousins. What he didn't count on was how flooded the river is, OR the downed tree going across the river. Yeah... he very nearly died, and that's not an exaggeration. He got pinned in the branches with his tube, with the water rushing up and over his wide-brimmed hat, giving him a tiny pocket of air to breath in. He was pinned for at least 5 minutes. He's currently covered in awful, dark bruises and lots of scrapes/scratches, and I'm fairly certain he broke a rib. Can't lift things, can't take deep breaths, etc. Stupid, stupid man!
... But, I'm glad he's alive. And my two cousins, who had their own life/death/drowning struggles with the tubing-tree incident. Although it would have been one for the Darwin awards.

Can't just someone tell them to listen to us :sob:
I'm really really honto ni glad he's alive. Buy him a new hat when he recovered. I see they're of some use although I hate dislike them. And a scuba.

ya, she should keep that boy away from the water.

And of course, I caught the flu bug, as soon as the kids were gone. Now I feel like ........ well, bad, and I still have way to much to move from the old house.

my are things lively around here!

I feel like crap right now, hope I get over this bug soon. I have a lot of stuff left to move before I get a chance to start at working on my own room. We were back to the Fairfax house yesterday and brought another load. All the car could fit, and it barely made a dent in one of her closets of fabric. She thought there wasn't that much to move...... hah! Was she ever wrong on that one.

While we were at Fairfax, a sudden wind came up, 96+kph, it lasted about 15 minutes. I thought the trees in the yard were going to snap off, but they didn't. Very strange, it wasn't a stormy day, just grey and rainy. Glad I wasn't driving at that time. It's supposed to be rainy for the next few days.

I have got the first symptoms of a cold right now, but I don't know where I got it from. I don't know anyone who is sick. Oh well, it will be over in a few days.

Sogencon has been having a pledge drive to see if we can have Sogencon this year. They started 12 days ago and have raised $7,600 so far. The problem is that they need to raise a total of $15,000 and only have 3 more days to go.
It is not looking good for Sogencon 2011. :sob:

That is not a happy situation. Problem with cons, most of the kids going don't have any extra money, most of the older guys don't look at the sites that much so they may not know about this.

In any case, I couldn't go this year because I have to take SHE to Wisconsin those days.

Fixed date for the con or fixed date for when they need the money?
The con will happen on Aug 12-14 if it happens at all this year. That is the date that we signed in the contract with the convention center and the only date they had available.
The June 30th date for the end of the pledge drive is because that is the date the the convention center said we had to be paid up by or we could not hold the convention there.
