Vanishing bits??

It's snowing again, sigh.

Got the estimate for replacing the carpets in the new house, over 9 grand. With that and painting the price of the house is going up. Oh, they decided to replace the handles on all the cabinets, Kitchen, bathroom, ect. That's 78 handles to buy, and of course, the ones we like are the more expensive ones.

At least, I can save some money by replacing the light bulbs. Every bulb in the place, except the kitchen fixture, are incandescent. That's 7 flood lights in the basement family room alone, at 65 watts each, ouch, 455 watts. I can replace them with 15 watt cfl's, 105 watts. The bathrooms have 300 watts of bulbs over the sinks, I can replace that with 65 or less watts. Almost every room is like that. It's going to cost a bit for bulbs, but save a bunch in electricity and in bulb replacement over the years.

That might even make up for the amount of electricity my computer takes.

Oh, speaking of computer watts, check this board out. In tests, running a raptor hard drive and an usb blue ray drive this pulled a maximum of 38 watts while playing a 1080hd video. It may not be a fast gaming rig, but could be a nice multimedia player and general use computer. It would outrun the old one I use now. http://us.msi.com/index.php?func=prodde ... od_no=2105

spent two days working at the house, prepping and painting. Helps to have Dinky's hubby there, he can paint ceilings without a ladder. We have two out of the twelve rooms done. I'm sore and tired. Back at it again tomorrow.

I can paint ceiling without a ladder also. I just fill balloons with paint and throw. It's a little messy though.

And Gpa- you think you're sore now? Once we finish fixing up YOUR new house, I'll be moving into MY new house, and we get to start all over again! And my house has a LOT more work that needs to be done than yours!

Been there, done that......... Ya, I can help. Your house has a lot less wall space than my new one, but I can see multiple coats of paint to cover those colors.

The disaster in Japan...... There's probably more video of this than any other disaster in the history of the world...... and it's completely unbelievable. They need our prayers right now. Let's hope that they can control those nuclear reactors.

I was worried about our exchange students (even though I don't even know them :s) but we received an email that all of them were fine. I do hope everything will work out okay in the end :( My dad told me that they're afraid that another, even worse, earthquake is coming, but I really hope there isn't. That would be really terrible...

The scifi and disaster movie people couldn't have dreamed up a movie like the reality of what is happening in Japan right now. Even Godzilla couldn't have created that much havoc.

My aunt died last night/this morning. Not sure what time it was because I was sleeping when my dad woke me up to tell me.


Also, my teacher probably lost some friends in Japan. Those friends moved to Sendai last year so.. It somehow seems my teacher doesn't have any luck even though she's one of the coolest teachers ever :( You'd reckon she would have saved lots of brownie-points by now...
