Yep, that's the one. It's just called "Origine" here. It gives it a French touch I suppose.

I recommend Disgaea! This is one cute series. it's just three dvd's, put out by Geneon. The voice acting is very good. Micheal McConnohie does a great job as Captain Gordon 37th defender of earth. The whole series gets quite dramatic and has a great finish in the last dvd. Thirteen episodes, Japanese and English dub, stereo sound 16:9 format. Check the image gallery for some pictures.

I had actually put this on my "don't need to watch" list after seeing the first two episodes. But if you say that it has a good ending, I will have to give it another chance.

You get into some explainations of who people are, why things are happening, and a pretty good battle for netherworld. Prinnies are cool, dude.

Actually... There are only twelve episodes, one of them is something like a commercial.

You're right, twelve, but I don't remember one like a commercial.

I just scanned some picts from the covers and inside sheets of the Disgaea dvd's. Here are thumbnails, slick on them to see the picture. I like Miss March.

Ok, just finished Sakura Wars. I'd give it about a seven out of ten. A nice shojo type, good old style animation, and a story mixing old and new technologies and supernatural. Anime is good at that. Steam powered mechs, high tech surveillance systems, swords and guns, a bit of everything. The story is good, it stays together and ends up well. Some humor, lots of drama, and plenty of action. 25 episodes, 4:3 format, stereo and 5.1 sound, English dub. The thin pack is pretty low cost. I see it's out in Latin America too.

Plot Summary: Sakura travels to the capital with aspirations of defending the city from the demonic forces of the Black Sanctum Council like her father before her. However, things are not as she imagined as in addition to using her great spiritual energy to pilot a mech called a Kobu, she must also perform on stage as an actor as The Imperial Flower Division's cover is an art theater. Making a fool of herself and ruining a production gets her on everyone's bad side and somehow she must learn to work with them as well as prevent the enemy from destroying several shrines which protect the city.

Little mechanic, Li Kohran, is my type. Pigtails, glasses, freckles, and a mechanical genius, cute.

Oh yeah, it got aired around here as well... with heavy censorship (an specialty of our local TV stations, it seems). I managed to catch most of the episodes and I really liked it.
