For comedy, I still recomend Those Who Hunt Elves, seasons 1 and 2. It's a lot of fun, and season 2 does parodies of some interesting fairy tails like Little Red Ridinghood. I laughed till I hurt over the big bad wolf.

If you like mecha humor, Nadesico is good, and the underrated Dai Guard is a pretty good parody of Evangelion and some others.

If you really want fanservice comedy try Colorful, lot's of bloody noses and guys who just can't handle the situation.

I saw spirited away about 30 times, but I haven't seen Howl's moving castle that many times, but I like it as well. I've only seen Howl about... 7 times.

Most studio Ghibli stuff is really excellent. Howle's is a favorite of mine. I did an amv using Spirited away, it seemed to fit great with the song, People are Strange, by the Doors.

A couple that you might like, that fit together. Whispers of the Heart, and The Cat Returns.

the other action anime from Ghibli are really good, Porko Roso, Castle in the Sky (Laputa), Princess Mononoke.

How bizarre! I just watched Howl's Moving Castle yesterday!!! My fav Myazaki movie--although Princess Mononoke comes in close second! Which is wierd, considering how much I HATED Princess Mononoke when I saw it in the theater........

Millenium Actress is different group all together, but I really love that anime too. The way it is told, from a viewpoint inside a flashback, is so unique and interesting. Millenium Actress is done by the same people that made Perfect Blue, an excellent psyco thriller.

Would that be "Origin, Spirits of the Past" ? I have that one, it's put out by Funimation. About a time when the forest has taken over the earth, a boy finds a girl in a cryogenic sleep capsule and awakens her. The boy, Agito, has to save the world from the weapon the girl, Toola, unleashes. It's a very good movie.

If that's the one you like, you might also try "A Tree of Palme". Loosely based on the story of Pinochio, it is another really good single dvd movie.
