Journey to Erehwon The game begins

Merenwen: That... IS SO COOL! I wanna go too!!!

*Tim is jerked to a stop, hanging upside down, his head just inches from the hard floor of the deep dry hole. Tim carefully pulled his small boyscout knife out of his pocket and turned on the little flashlight. It was difficult to see things without his glasses, but squinting, it appeared he was in a fairly deep shaft that was covered by some sort of trap door. The vines around his ankles had saved him from certain injury, but....... A few things bothered him, like the bones on the floor below him, and, he didn't know which was worse, the fact that the vines were creeping farther around him, and trying to pull him to an uncertain doom, or the dark tunnels around the bottom of the well, which were starting to emit ominous rustling and clicking sounds.*

Tim, his voice a bit squeeky: HELP!!.... Please, somebody....... *The vines were creeping all around him, getting tighter, and in the tunnels, red eye peered out at him.* HHHHHHEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!

*Tim opens the sharp blade of his little knife and begins to hack at the tough vines slowly encasing him. Tim is only making slight headway on the vines when his blurred vision is drawn to the creatures emerging from the tunnels. White furry creatures, with long ears and pink noses, and round cotton tails........... Whew, just some rabbits. Tim goes back to working on the vines....... but what about the clicking , and those bones? ............ The clicking sound starts up again and Tim glances up...... his blood freezes in his veins. Those hideous long, sharp teeth, the pointed horns behind the long ears, the glowing red eyes, these weren't ordinary rabbits, Tim had stumbled into a den of killer bunnies......... the dreaded North Dakota Jackalope! He was sure he was doomed.*

*Merenwen grabbed the nearest branch and disappeared as well.*

Merenwen: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-----!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!!

*Merenwen had landed on one of the antlers of one of the bunnies. She got up and then she saw Tim.*

Merenwen: Hey Tim! So you actually came here too! You sure look like you're in a bind.

*Merenwen rubbed the place where the antler had hit her.*

Merenwen: That really hurt...

*Rune looked with a skeptic face at the sight before her. Did Merewen really just squeal?*

Rune, turning to the others: Hey is it just me or does Merewen seem a little off?

Chichi, sighs: I think we better go after them. *With the last word Chichi touched one of the vines and dissappeared Rune soon followed and both landed next to Merewen, Tim and the bunny with antlers.*

Rune, staring at the bunny: What the--?

* Loki shrugged and turned to the others. *

Loki: Well, who else is coming?

* As he said this, he allowed one of the vines to catch him and drag him near where Tim was. He stood up and tidied himself. *

Loki: Wow, it's been a while since I saw one of those...

Tim: Merenwen, get out...... Rune, it's dangerous..... those bunnies have sharp teeth, they mean business. *Tim is having a hard time breathing, the vines are squeezing him like a Boa Constrictor.*

*The tough vines wrap around Merenwen, pinning her arms and wings, keeping her from using her magic. Rune has been captured, and there is no water to use her magic on. Loki was laughing, at first, till the vines captured him too, resisting all his magic efforts. Tim is still valiantly hacking at the vines as more and more of the bunnies come out of the tunnels, clicking their nasty looking teeth.*

Tim: Stay back rabbits. I know how to make Hassenpfeffer!

*Suddenly the Jackalopes attack...... oh, the horror....... the fur and blood, leaves and wood chips. Rabbits, sticks, leaves, pieces flying in all directions. It was a terrible battle. In the end, Tim sat, rather dazed, against the wall of the shaft. He saw his friends, lying on the floor, or standing against the walls. The rabbits were licking their wounds and gathering the twigs and leaves. Tim holds his knife in front of him.*

Tim: Stay back bunny, You can't eat us..... I won't let you.

One big Jackalope looks at Tim: Humph, idiot.... rabbits is vegetarians. It's the plants ye got to worry about.

*Tim stares at the rabbits, disappearing into the tunnels with their load of leaves. He knew that!..... Now, how were they going to get out of this hole?*

*Rune gasps and coughs a little after she was released, she looks at the retreating bunnies with a somewhat shocked and disbelieving expression.*

Rune: I guess they weren't so bad...*Rune trailed off and looked around seeing that some of their companions were still not with them.* Do you think they know were safe...*Rune sees one of the broken vines twitching trying to go at her again, fortunately it failed. * Or at least relatively safe...

[Hiki]

Merenwen: If only we could find a way to signal them...

*Merenwen sat up and started thinking.*

Tim: Maybe the plants got them, but they didn't fall down the rabbit hole. *shudders* Maybe the plants are eating them.

Rabbit, sticks his head out of a tunnel: Oy, thanks for the snack, mate. Not often we get it delivered. Lot tougher wrestling with them vines topside.

Tim: Topside? Do you know how we can get out of here?

Rabbit: Well now, you and the little ladies could follow me through the tunnels, the hole is a bit to small for them to fly, but that tall bloke, he wouldn't fit a rabbit tunnel, now would he.

Tim: Oh, I guess we could throw a rope down for him. *Tim wonders why a Jackalope from north Dakota has an Australian accent.*

Rabbit: Best hurry then, mate, before the big spider what lives in this hole comes back.

Tim:Spider? How big a spider?

Rabbit: Oh, pretty much fills up the hole.

*Tim thinks, maybe this wasn't such a good place to camp.*
