*sniff* I'm feeling better now. Aparently it was due to a HUGE front that went through during the weekend and sometimes those things really mess with my head.

@Freya: Very Close. If you take Buffalo and move on east towards NYC, the most important cities (in order) are Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany. (I think Utica is in there somewhere as well...) I live in Rochester.

Wasn't able to post much this last week, doing grandpa stuff. The daughter and granddaughter were here, and Dinky was here with the little grandson for a couple days. Man, those kids are too cute. Leilani is 18 months, and running around like crazy, always wanting you to read books. She also loves the movie, Happy Feet, she dances right along with the penguins. Koen is 4 months, getting bigger, reaching for everything now, and can really let you know when he is unhappy. He's a very good and happy boy though.

Arg, two days of feeling sick because of the vaccinations for this trip to the Amazon. Now I have to do tax work before we leave.

Next is the weather..... 18 below zero last two nights..... that's about -28 for you C people. At least the wind is down today. They are playing a football playoff game in Green Bay, Wisconsin tonight, it's 0 and windy there, that's nasty.

My dad, Harold Thomasma, is finishing out his last days. He underwent treatment last year for a tumor in his esophagus. He never fully recovered from the chemo and radiation, so they weren't able to get back inside to see if the tumor was really gone. He was eventually able to get up and around, but he's been on a feeding tube ever since, and never really got back on solid food. Week before last he took a downward turn, and my mom and brother took him to the hospital. The doctors found another tumor, this time in the brain. My dad decided not to have any more treatment, but to let the cancer run its course this time.

He's declined pretty rapidly since then. I went up to Grand Rapids to see him yesterday. He's not conscious, but the hospice people are keeping him comfortable. His body functions are already shutting down, and the doctor is giving him a few days at the most.
