Fullmetal Botanist
Funny how a reference to that strip has become the ISO standard response for anything Fullmetal Alchemist-related topics.

Paprika: This one is another psycho thriller by the makers of Perfect Blue. It takes place between dream and reality. They have invented a device that can read your dreams, and let others interact with them, but the device is stolen, and all those who have used it are still under it's influence. What is real and what is a dream. Can the dream girl, Paprika, straighten out the mixed worlds, before insanity is all that is left?
This anime is truly visually stunning. The scenes are wonderfully complex, and amazingly colorful. The story is very convoluted, both demanding and engrossing. I found the English dub to be clearer and easier to understand than the subtitles. More words in the dub led to more information to work with. This is often the case with subtitles that are written so they can be read in the time frame of the scene.
This is a single dvd oav, about 90 minutes, anamorphic wide screen, Japanese, English, French, Spanish, dubs, English, French and Spanish subs. It's rated R for some nudity and language, but I didn't really find it very offensive. The special features are very good too. Over all this is a real winner if you like really mind twisting psycho drama anime.

finished Kite Liberator, not highly recommended.
I really wanted this to be a good story. I enjoyed the original Kite, but this falls far short. Again, I enjoyed the artwork, I like the overall feel, but so much is lacking, and the ending..........wtf????????????
Again you are dropped into the life of a young girl assassin, but this time, there is no explanation, no reason for her to be an assassin, no one to train her. Her father is an astronaut on a space station where an accident turns him into a monster, bulletproof of course, she is hired to try to kill him. The fall from the sordid, gritty, reality story of the original Kite to this weak scifi mess is sad to see. They could have done so much better.
Recommendation: Find something better to watch, Tekonkinkrete blows this away if you want an action anime. Mezzo TV is so much better if you want cute girl with a gun. This one's a loser.
