Mike: Well, any time you need a training partner, just call me. I could use a good workout again, but, ah, maybe we should find a bigger place to train. *Mike handed Hideki a piece of paper.* Here, these are the codes to let Kelly's people hook up to the surveillance system I set up here. I have cameras covering the hallways, entrances and most classrooms........ No, I don't have any in the girls locker room....... They can help keep an eye on things with that.

*Mike walked over to the girls, smiling, it was really nice to see them having fun again. Now the whole group of friends could start having some fun....... They just had to keep an eye out for any revenge plot.*

Mike: Hmmm, must be really interesting, everyone red faced. Care to tell?..... No?, Well, it's class time, eould you walk with me, Aki?

*As Mike and Aki headed for the main school building, Selene's dad watched from the car.*

Kauru: Damn, looks like things aren't going well, we'll have to go to plan B. I really didn't want it to come to this. *He dialed on his cell phone.* ....... Yes, go ahead with the plan......... alright, the sooner the better....... Yes, we have a place for you........... Don't worry about the money, you'll get it.......... alright, half, where should I meet you?

*A dark robed figure looked over Aki's home. He had watched the girl eave for school. So that little girl is the one the Elders want so badly. He shook his head, she doesn't look particularly impressive. Those old fossils don't understand where real power lies. But the humans will pay dearly for her, and after he is done with those fools, the elders will pay even more if they want their little princess alive.*

*After morning classes, Mike hurried to pick up his lunch and head to the roof...... Aki said she would meet him there. As Aki headed down the hall toward the roof, she almost ran into Selene. Selene looked down at the smaller girl, she sighed and put on her best smile.*

Selene: Hello, Aki-chan. I'm glad to see you back at school, now Mike will smile again.......... *Selene stepped around Aki, then stopped.* Take good care of Mike, Aki.......... or I will.

*Selene walked off, she had always been shy of boys, many made fun of her because she was taller than them. It had been very hard for her to talk to Mike that first time....... Selene liked Mike, He was a nice guy, she really wanted him to be happy....... even if it was with Aki.

*Selene was thinking about her friend. At least she had gotten the courage to talk to one boy....... well, her dad had really talked her into it. Aki might be his girlfriend, but she hoped she could still be his friend. Selene wasn't looking and bumped into someone coming out of the lunch room........ *

*Kunikida was headed for the club room, to play games on the computer, when the tall girl bumped into him. Kunikida juggled his lunch but didn't drop it.*

Kunikida: Hey!!...oh, geeze.

Selene: Oh...oh, I'm so sorry.... I.. *Bowing and backing away.* Please, forgive me.

*Kunikida looked up to see Selene, red faced, turn and quickly walk away.

Kunikida: It's alright, no harm done...... Hey, it's ok....Selene.... Damn, why'd she run off like that. *Sigh* She never talks to any of the guys, except Mike. Ah well, what would I say to a beautiful girl like her?

Selene stood against the wall around the corner: Darn, that was Mike's friend..... now he's going to think I'm a clutz. I should have said something else, but...... I just can't..... what if he would say something mean? Shy am I so afraid to say something?

*Aki took her lunch and told Kimara and Rina that she would be eating at the roof with Mike, both girls gave her a grin that spoke volumes and Aki blushed. She shook her head before leaving and heading to the roof. Then just before she got to the last flight of stairs she ran into Selene, it a brief meeting nothing much to dwell on except what she said before she left.*

Aki: Mike-kun! *Aki waved and smiled at Mike who was sitting beside the wall. She sat down beside him. Aki's thoughts suddenly replayed her encounter with Selene, she felt a shiver run through her but ignored it. Surely she just misinterpreted Selene.*

*Mike was so happy to see Aki smiling at him. So good not to have Daiki hanging around her. Mike thought of that morning in the park...... so close.... but what if she wasn't ready? Mike remembered the movies he'd seen, where the girl slapped the guy because he kissed her. That first kiss was supposed to be something special.*

Mike: Aki, ah, this morning, at the park, I, ah, it's just when I'm near you, i can't help myself, you're just......... um, it's not because you're pretty that I'm attracted to you......... wait, I didn't mean..... I mean, you're the prettiest girl I ever saw, but that's not why I'm attracted to you....... no, that's....... I mean yes that's why I'm attracted to you but it isn't, it's more than...... I mean I......

*Mike looked at Aki, she had her hand over her mouth, trying hard not to laugh at his awkward attempt at a confession.*

Mike looked down: I sound like an idiot, don't I? What I'm trying to way......... whenever I'm with you, I get a feeling, something I've never felt when I'm with anyone else. I don't know what it is but I.....

*Mike felt Aki's hand on his arm, he turned and looked into her bright crimson eyes, her face turned up toward his. She was so close, Mike couldn't help himself, he leaned down and............ The roof door burst open, Daiki was dragging a protesting Kimara behind him.*

Kimara: We shouldn't be coming here they might.............. Oh!....... this is bad timing. *Kimara saw Mike and Aki quickly sit up, red faced.*

Daiki: No it isn't. *Daiki shot Mike a nasty look as he dragged Kimara onto the roof.*

Kimara: we should leave, find somewhere else to eat lunch.

Daiki: No, anyone can come to the roof to eat lunch....... I want to stay here.

*Kimara sat down with Daiki, she sighed, she would have to be patient, someday Daiki would realize who's hearts belonged together. Mike tried to ignore Daiki's presence till class time approached and he walked Aki back to her classroom.

* Hideki looked around the club room, incredibly bored. He had wanted to go to the roof but Kunikida had stopped him, something about it being taken. Kunikida was in the computer, playing a demo of Starcraft 2. After a few minutes, Hideki stood up and headed outside. *

Kunikida: Remember the roof is taken...

Hideki: Yeah, yeah, whatever...

* Hideki walked around school grounds until he got to the soccer field. There were a few boys playing there, but no one he could recognize. He sat on the far side looking at the sky. Some minutes later two guys walked up to him, they were wearing the uniform of Hideki's old school. *

???: Tsuchimi-senpai?

* Hideki glared at them. He really didn't want anyone calling him by that name. *

Hideki: Who wants to know?

Kunio: I'm Kunio Murai from the Holy Forest Academy.

Noboru: Noboru Yoshikawa, nice to meet you.

Hideki: ... and?

* The two of them took a small emblem from their pockets and showed it to Hideki. *

Kunio: We are from the East Side Gunz.

Hideki: ... I remember telling the new leader that he shouldn't be looking for help from old members.

* The two of them put the emblems back in their pockets as they sat at both sides of Hideki. *

Noboru: The leader is in the hospital...

Hideki: Haven't heard about a gang war around here. What happened?

Kunio: There's a new gang... no, an old, secret gang from inside the academy that started acting. When our leader tried to stop them from taking out turf... he was defeated on a one-on-one fight against the other gang's leader.

Hideki: Let me guess, this secret gang's name is Sleeping Forest and the leader is a third year girl, Ringo Noyamano.

Noboru: Wha? How do you--

Hideki: Why do you think they were hidden? I'm actually surprised she waited this long to fight again...

Kunio: So you see why we need your help!

Hideki: No, sorry. Even if I wanted to, I don't have time to be in a gang again. Plus, it wouldn't exactly be fair to have outside help.

Noboru: But THEY have outside help!

Hideki: Really? What kind?

Noboru: Some of our members have seen members of Sleeping Forest dealing with Yakuza...

Hideki: ... doubt it... I know Noyamano-san wouldn't do anything like that.

* Kunio stood up angrily and looked at Hideki. He felt like beating the crap out of him, but he knew he wouldn't be able to. Hideki's reputation as a fighter was almost legendary among the gangs in the zone. Finally he just clenched his fists and began walking away. *

Noboru: Please think about it, senpai. Excuse us.

* Noboru bowed to Hideki and followed Kunio, trying to calm him down as the two of them left the school grounds. Hideki sighed and looked at the sky again. *

Hideki: Ringo Noyamano... I really hope she's forgotten about me...

*After classes had ended for the week, Daiki found Kimara at the clubroom, and walked her home. Kimara noticed Daiki was looking around much more today, and they didn't cut through the park...... something had happened yesterday. When they reached Kimara's house Kimara thanked Daiki......... If she could just get him to stay....*

Kimara: Would you like to come in....... I could make supper for you. I'm sure my mom would like to meet you.

Daiki looked away: No, thanks. It's our family night tonight, it's our traditions....... maybe some other time.

Kimara: Umm, please Daiki, would you like to go with me to the mall tomorrow. I would be afraid to go alone.... we could go to lunch, or a movie or something.

Daiki: I should be with Aki tomorrow, make sure she and Mike aren't........ no, I saw the look she gave me on the roof today. It's obvious I'm not welcome with Mike around. *Daiki looked down into Kimara's pleading, soft brown eyes.* Alright, I'll be here in the morning...... If you like, maybe some of the others would like to go too, Kunikida or Rina, or the others. Damn, she has a pretty smile.

Kimara: Good, I'll check with them. It would be so much fun to get together again at the mall. *Kimara leaned up and gave Daiki a quick kiss, and then skipped off toward her house.* Thank you so much Daiki.

*Daiki sat up in a tree outside his home, thinking. It was Aki he was in love with...... right? Why did a little kiss from a dog girl confuse him like this........ Kimara was really nice to him, she was sweet to everyone, but..... more so to him. And lately when he thought of Aki..... somehow, Kimara would slip into his thoughts. She is a hot looking girl, I mean, when they were alone in the clubroom, and she was reaching up, cleaning..... a guy would have to be blind or dead not to be affected........ And this morning, when they were serving that cake she made, she had brushed against his arm...... she has bigger..... I mean..... she is more, well, more built than Aki. Daiki shook his head, but she is a dog girl.......... but then, did it actually matter?*

*Mike and Kunikida picked up Aki and headed home. Just outside the gate, they met Selene. Selene smiled a sad smile at Aki.*

Selene: Hi Mike-kun, Aki-chan.

Kunikida stepped out from behind Mike: Hi, Selene-chan..... nict to be....ah, not running into you.

Selene backed up a step, red faced: Gomen, Kunikida-sempai..... i didn't mean to......

Kunikida: Hey... no problem, I should have been watching where I was going....... Say, would you like to walk home with us? We have to take Aki home. *He notice Selene was wringing her hands, she stepped back another step. She looked away, but looked quickly back.*

Selene: No!...... I mean, yes, I would like to.... but my father is picking me up. *A car pulled up behind Selene.* I'll see you next week....... bye. *Selene quickly got into the car, wishing she weren't so frightened of talking to others..... Good thing Mike had been there. She had even talked to Kunikida some, and he had been nice to her..... like Mike was.*

Kunikida: Well, at least she didn't run away this time. I didn't think I was that scary a guy.

Mike: I think she has a hard time talking to anyone, it's like she's afraid of what they might say.

Kunikida: Ya, she's been that way since grade school. She never made any friends. Lots of the kids made fun of her cause she was so tall and skinny back then. *Laughed* But, man.... I wish she'd walk home with me.

Aki: I think Kunikida has a crush on someone.

Kunikida: Hey, not me........ anyway, I might as well wish for the moon.

Aki: you won't know if you don't try.

Kunikida: Not a chance. Look at her, she's a top student, tall, pretty, and built like a....... ah, she's hot. I'm the class nerd, what would she want with me? Girls aren't interested in me.

Aki: Don't sell yourself short. You just spend to much time playing World of Warriors on line, you'll never get any girlfriends that way.

*As they approached Aki's house, Kunikida commented that the park sure was cleaned up, even the paths were swept...... Aki and Mike laughed. They left Aki at her house, it was family night for Aki, but she promised Mike they would spend all of tomorrow together......... Mike took Kunikida up on his invitation to play video games at his house.*

*The next morning, without thinking about it, Daiki spent more time than usual getting himself ready to go out. Kimara had told him when to pick her up, and that she had called Rina and Kunikida to come. Rina was going to call Hideki. She hadn't mentioned Aki and Mike....... Daiki stopped..... So, Aki had figured out how to get rid of his possession spell, he couldn't feel her presence anymore. He sighed, he would have had to remove it sometime anyway.*

*Kimara fussed over everything, cloths, hair, shoes........ She would have a whole day with Daiki, without Aki to distract him. The others would be with them, so it wouldn't look to much like she was keeping Daiki away from Aki. She was sure Daiki liked her, now, if she could just get him to forget about Aki for a while.*


*Mike was anxious to get on his way....... the clock was too slow, it was still a while till he was to meet Aki at her house. They would have a whole day together. Mike was trying to waste some time on the internet when his phone rang. He quickly answered it*

Kyo: WHERES MY DAUGHTER????

Mike: Huh?? What?

Kyo: IF you've touched her I'll kill you. You bast........

Mike: Woah!! Wait a minute, what do you mean..... who....

Kyo: AKI!!! Where is she??

Mike: She's at home. Isn't she?? I'm supposed to meet her there in a few minutes...... What..... Is this Ayashi-san??

Kyo, with a frightened voice: Yes...yes... she's gone....please, she has to be with you...... she wasn't in her bed. I had the house sealed, there's no way they could have gotten in. she must have found a way out. Please tell me she's with you.

Mike: No...... Oh, no.......... *Mike stared at his phone.* Oh god.......no.

*Deep in the fortress of a building that is the headquarters of the humans eugenics project "Genesis", the dark robed kitsune mage looked over the small girl. it had been too easy. The human guards were a joke, they would only remember guarding the house all night. He had easily broken the seal at her window, sent her into a deep sleep, then wrapped her in a spell that hid her from the world. He'd left a shadow of her essence on her bed, so no one would feel her missing, till morning. That fool Kyo thought he could keep her safe. The mage's hatred burned, Kyo had been one of kitsune responsible for the elders banning him for practicing forbidden black magic. The fools didn't know where real power existed. he would show them. The humans had paid him well to take her away. Now they would pay dearly to get their little princess back.*

*The mage looked at the sleeping form. He didn't know why the elders wanted the little thing so badly, she certainly didn't look impressive......... but..... he slowly ran his hand down her body. She's a pretty little thing, his leer was evil, perhaps he would have some fun with her before they got her back. The mage stopped...... so, a possession spell. She's let some young pup put his mark on her. The mage set to remove it, but hesitated, maybe he should wait. His grin was evil, he might like to find the boy, it would be enjoyable to force him to watch. Yes, soon she would be waking up....... it was always such a pleasure, to hear them scream.*



*Mike got to the Ayashi house in minutes. Ai was in tears..... Kyo hung up the phone, he had called the police. They were sending a detective that had been working on some kidnappings. Mike found the surveillance officers, one was military, the other must be from Zero, both swore that no one had approached the house all night. Mike got Kyo to calm down enough to tell him what they had found. When Aki didn't answer them, they had gone to her room, she wasn't there. nothing was amiss, there was no clue at all. Mike asked about the spell sealing the house, but Kyo had removed the spell when he got up in the morning.......... No clues, no signs of struggle, nothing........ just gone. Mike didn't know what to do, he opened his cellphone and dialed.*

Mike: Hideki...... Hideki, she's gone.

Hideki: Huh? Mike? What?

Mike: Aki's gone..... someone took her. We've got to find her, Hideki, you've got to help me.
