* Hideki looked down from the roof towards the school gate, without anything specific in mind. Kunikida was laying on the ground next to him, looking up. *

Kunikida: ... I wish I could go to Level Zero everyday like you. They must have some monster computers there.

Hideki: I guess so...

Kunikida: Have you taken a look around there?

Hideki: Not really...

* Kunikida frowned and sat up, looking at Hideki. *

Kunikida: *sigh* I heard from Shin... Minoru transferred away.

Hideki: I noticed...

Kunikida: ... and they are holding a symbolic burial today... even though they never found the body.

Hideki: ... what time?

Kunikida: In an hour or so...

* Hideki looked up, thinking. *

Hideki: ... tell the teacher I'm sick or something...

Kunikida: Ah... okay...

* Hideki took his bag and headed outside the school. *

*Outside the school rina was walking with seiryu,she look up to see hideki run out of the schooll gates,her heart stop as her grip on her bag tighten*

where..where is he going?could it be that shouko's death affected him more than....shouko..*she shook her head thinking such things about her cousin is dishonorable to her death*

* Kunikida had come down of the roof as well and was heading towards the club room when he saw Rina. He walked up to them waving his hand. *

Kunikida: Good morning, Rina-chan! Uh... you're the dude that was in the lab as well... what was your name again?

* Hideki ran to the far side of the cemetery, taking care of not letting anyone see him. He approached the burial site as much as he could, seeing his father on crutches, Minoru and Chisato, along with some of his far relatives. He hid, knowing what would happen if he showed his face around, and waited for the ceremony to end. After everyone was gone he walked to the tombstone and knelt in front of it. "The past is history. The future, a mystery. But we will hold dear our memories of her, her smile, the sound of her laughter... forever. In memory of Linda Hasley." Outside the cemetery, Kelly watched Hideki through a pair of binoculars. *

Minako: One would think he wouldn't have come, after all she did...

Kelly: Don't be stupid, that's her mother...

*Rina took a few minutes before looking at kunikida*

Rina :Goodmorning Sempai!yes this is seiryu-kun...err...tsuchim-,*It hits her then that she knows nothing about seiryu and the surname tsuchimi still is a mystery*

Kunikida: Seiryu... Tsuchimi..?

* Kunikida looked at him from head to toes. He didn't look human, how could he be a Tsuchimi? He decided to ask later once he knew him better, since it would be pretty rude right now. *

Kunikida: Kunikida Matsumoto, but you can call me Kunikida. Nice to meet you, Seiryu-kun! Which grade are you in?

*Mike overheard Rina and Kunikida talking to Seiryu outside the clubhouse door, then he heard Kunikida say something that made his blood run cold. Kunikida said something about being sorry about Shouko...... ??????...... He said something about them missing her. What did he mean???? Shouko had been with the other girls, hadn't she? They all got out in the helicopter before the one he got on. Mike came out of the clubhouse and up to the group.*

Mike: What do you mean, what about Shouko?..... Rina, where is Shouko??

Kunikida: Oh man! didn't they tell you?

Mike's voice was getting more frantic: What?.... Tell me what?

*Mike looked down at Rina as she answered quietly, tears in her eyes.*

Rina: Shouko didn't make it..... She protected us when the blast came, but it was to much for her........ Shouko's dead, Mike. *Rina couldn't hold back the tears.*

*Mike's face was ashen, he felt like he couldn't breath. This was wrong, it couldn't be........ Mike knew that there were casualties in a battle, they always calculated that, but this couldn't be. Mike didn't know what to say, what to do. Nothing in his life had prepared him for this.*

Mike: I didn't........... I.... I'm sorry. Rina.......I couldn't.........

*Mike turned and walked off. What could he do? How could he stand there with them? Mike felt devastated, he was sure they had all gotten out. He was sure no one was badly hurt. he'd even told Yuki that. Now...... Shouko was gone. Mike walked out the gate and away from the school, remembering the elf girl, her sharp remarks, remembered picking her up and holding her. He couldn't even have called her a good friend, he'd hardly known her. Why couldn't he hold back his tears. Mike kept walking, he didn't tell anyone he was leaving, didn't even look back.*

*Kunikida held Rina while she cried. Damn, he thought everyone knew, that hadn't gone well at all.*

* Hideki walked out of the cemetery back towards the school. It was the only place he could go. There and Level Zero, but he was sure Dr. Freeman would get angry at him if he skipped school. "We don't need dumb people here, John, so education is first." was his answer when Hideki told him about not going to school anymore. He thought about getting transferred but somehow he got the feeling they wouldn't let him do that either. When he got to school he saw Michael leaving hurriedly. Had something happened? He caught up with him and walked besides him. *

Hideki: Hey, dude, what's wrong?

Mike: No one told me. It shouldn't have happened, Shouko's dead and no one told me.I thought everyone was safe, I was sure we all got out, now they tell me Shouko died. She saved Rina and Aki, she saved you, she saved everyone in that damned chopper. You know the pilots from the chopper I was in may not make it, radiation sickness. Samuel is ok because he had armor. But your chopper, if it weren't for Shouko......... it's just not fair.

*Mike stopped, fists clenched. As upset about everything as he was, he forgot all about the fact Hideki had lost his mother, he wasn't thinking of what he was saying.*

Mike: If Kelly hadn't been so gung-ho to go rescue her precious superman, none of this would have happened. When it was Rina we had to rescue, she was willing to wait as long as it took for you to learn to use that armor. But as soon as it was you they captured she rushed in guns blazing. She was going to get you out, damn the cost. If she would have waited, even an hour, we could have had some decent recon, we could have had a battle plan, not just run in blind, we could have had decent weapons, not bare hands....... no one had to die. I couldn't stop it, I was useless, I tried but I couldn't protect anyone. I told that fool, Kelly, I'd follow her orders, unless she was putting us in danger....... but like an idiot, I just followed her anyway.


*Mike's tirade was burning out, his eyes were blurred, he felt weak, depleted. He just couldn't face any of them right now.*

Mike: Go away Hideki, go back to school, maybe someone needs you. No one needs me.

*Mike walked off toward the ocean.*

* Hideki stopped and looked at Michael. He couldn't believe what he was listening. *

Hideki: The f***!? Do I need remind you that we had no damned idea where Rina was? Or do you know something I don't? Because, let me tell ya, if you knew where Rina was and didn't tell, you're in for a world of pain!

* Michael ignored Hideki and kept walking. *

Hideki: You know what? F**** you, "captain"!

* Hideki turned around, fuming at the ears and left with no specific destination. He was in no mood anymore to attend classes. *

*Rina wippe tears away she hated being weak but michael had come straight forward for an answer and got her off guard,she had seen the hurt in his eyes,she must speak with Aki for michael relies only on himself and cannot accept reality what the hell am i thinking???! shaking her head,she look away too see hideki,It was kunikida who call him,Rina look at the two and said goodbye laying an excuse of being late as she strode pass hideki,she smile a faint smile,nodding her head*

Rina :Ohayou sempai...

*and she walk away,Shouko would be sad if she didn't talk to her friends and alread two thinks their are guilty,make it three...*
