On to one of the very excellent "discoveries" on this tour. We stopped at Three Generations coffee plantation. http://www.dokaestate.com/ A young Costa Rican girl gave us a tour of the plantation and explained how coffee goes from a cherry on a bush, to the aromatic beans you grind for your brewing needs. We also got a chance to taste and purchase coffee, chocolate covered beans, and coffee liqueur from their show room.
Our cute young guide teaches us all about coffee. The cherries are harvested by hand.

The "beans" are the cherry pits that are squeezed out of the fruit.

our group watched as she showed how the hard shell is pealed off the coffee bean by the large machines.

Here are the bags of raw coffee beans. She showed us the difference between regular and peaberry coffee. peaberry has a single bean, instead of the normal two, in a cherry. It is a more rare and premium coffee.

Here the coffee beans are naturally dried. They are turned every 30 minutes using that rake she is holding. Want a job?

There is a lot of hand work done in the harvesting and preparing of coffee. She told us that most of the laborers come from Nicaragua, The Costa Ricans, don't like doing this work.

JHawkNH why do you have the "NToonz" sub below your post, and no text?
I am not sure how that happened. I am sure I put "But I thought that book was subtitled 'So even Akari can understand', so what does that have to do with you Sakura?"

Maybe your database eats any messages that contain Sakura and Akari in the same message. You know how you can not be two places at once. It is a safty device to keep the world from collapsing.

Now for my famous, fussy blurry picts........ as snapped through the window of our moving bus. We traveled across a pass in the mountains to the Caribbean side, through the cloud forest. It was often to foggy to get good picts, but really beautiful. I took a few picts.
A Toucan posed in a tree for us.

On the other side where those two streams come togather do you find a Hot Spring?

I can of course. The ability comes with my catness.(*) Did you ever wonder how a cat is able to ruin two expensive pieces of furrrniture at once when you're not looking?
