The Crap Shooter

Major disaster in Fairax this morning, an oil pipeline ruptured!! Oilo all over the place, people screaming and cursing. A huge black slick running down the pavement.




Alright, maybe it's not quite that bad....... I'm the one cussing, cause it's the feed pipe to my waste oil furnace. A hose section blew off, but not completely, it was leaking badly, but still feeding enough to the burner to keep it lit, so the safety system didn't shut the furnace down. The pump kept pumping and I now have a shop full of waste oil. So far I've soaked up and recovered about 15 gallons, and I have quite a bit to go. On top of that, Jason is home with a sick daughter so I don't have any help. Sigh, lots of work to do.......... I hope I get this place sold soon.

So, another monday, and another crisis............. this time my shop computer lost it's magic smoke. Not good, I was in the middle of looking up information in AllData, the auto service manuals on the computer. I had to go home and take a power supply out of my old computer and install it in this one. At least I'm back up and running again. You litterally can do nothing without the service information for the newer cars.

Ok, yesterday continued in it's usual evil vein....... a good old Minnesota blizzard. most of the afternoon, you couldn't see 50 feet. The highways were closed, everything was at a standstill. Now the wind has died down, but we're back in the freezer, below 0F again.

Well, it got so cold my computer quit!.......... No, wait..... the dog ate the monitor cable. Darn dog. I had to go home and get my old 17inch crt. tiny pict.
