The weekend was tiring, but good overall. Went back home to help around (mom is studying cooking, so she's not around until noon) and see my sis again (she's back from Bogota for a week :D). Today morning I had my driving license re-test (driving licenses here expire every 4 years, requiring you to test again and pay MORE money to get it again) and the "test" was the funniest ever. The guys must have been way too tired from partying last night or something like that because it went kind of like this:

* Z2k gets in the car (after being told not to check the engine), checks the mirrors, puts on the seatbelt, checks the parking brake, puts the car in neutral and starts the engine. So far, normal. Then he shifts into reverse and starts taking the car out. Before the car as much as touches the street, the instructor stops him. *

Instructor: Ok, stop here.

Z2k: *brakes* What? What is it?

Instructor: Wait a second... * Looks around. *

Z2k: Uh oh... crap, what did I miss!?

Instructor: Hmm... Ok, park the car again.

Z2k: Come again?

Instructor: Put the car where we started.

Z2k: Erm... Ok?

* Z2k sweats cold, figuring he skipped something deadly important (Check the engine? Bow to the instructor? Feed his dog?) and was going to have his license revoked. He parks the car and the instructor jumps off. He walks around the car, towards the examination building, but stops before going in and looks at Z2k. *

Instructor: What are you doing? Get out of there, test's over, you passed.

* I kid you not. Test's over, you passed. Z2k would have gone WTF on him if it weren't for the fact he was too preoccupied with not laughing on the instructor's face. *

We have to renew our license every 4 years too. But it's just check your eyesight, take your picture and take your money.

I don't know whether we should do that... I haven't got my driver's licence yet (because I am too lazy to figure all the things out)

I can't believe that! I just about woke up my kid from laughing out loud so hard! Do you think the guy realized later that he didn't actually test you? My guess is he was either seriously about to puke or really, really needed the bathroom! That is the awesomest story EVER!
... I didn't get my liscense till I was 19. Not that I didn't need it... I just failed the test 2 times and decided I'd had enough humiliation for a few years.

No kidding. I mean, do those nasty instructors realize that I can't really see the front end of my car?

Couldn't even read the license plate of the car in front of us. I then used the "capital" method.

Capital method = phone books of Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin.
