Two things:
My grandma is going to have open-heart surgery. I hope she's home so I can talk to her later today.
I found out last week that a friend of mine (co-worker back home) is going through some really tough times. Her husband was just diagnosed about 2 weeks ago with stage 3 colon cancer (really, really bad!). He's only 36... and they have 4 young children and a hobby farm. However, before he could even have surgery, his bowel perforated (got a hole in it and started leaking the contents into his abdomen). Needless to say, he became very, very sick and was in the ICU. His kidneys started to shut down, and the outlook was poor- as in he wasn't going to make it. BUT, I got good news last night from his wife that he had made a miraculous turn-around and was going to be let out of the ICU into a regular med-surg floor! That being said, he still has a LONG battle ahead. Stage 3 is no joke.

Ya, I worry a lot about my mom. It's not easy to have heart surgery when you're 85 years old. But, it's either that or she is in a wheel chair for how ever long she would still live.

A crying mom is NEVER good! You know the old saying: "If Mama ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy!"
What is a crying mom doing in your room? Poor Hiki!! Here's some tissues and I hope things are better!

Mama was crying because she just had a phonecall from one of her friends whose son committed suicide a few days back.. but she's okay now :3
