Re: Gakkou
((*gasp* A double post! But it's a must! Or not...but I have to post this.))
Kunikida: Ne, Daiki-kun you said you'd tell the whole story about you and Aki-chan?
Daiki: Oh, right.
*As Daiki got ready to tell his story everyone gathered around him, like children waiting for a fairytale to be told by an adult.*
Daiki: You see...Aki's parents are both full kitsunes, they're the best of the best in our clan. They--
Kunikida: Wait...hold up, if Aki-chan's parents are both full kitsunes then...
Daiki: Yep, she's a full kitsune too. *Daiki noticed that Kunikida,Hideki, Rina (and Sei) looking quite surprised. Well Aki didn't actually look like a full demon.* I don't exactly know why she looks human, they said that when she was born she had fangs and long nails but they retraced when she grew older. When I first met Aki, I was eight, it was at a banquet held by the Kitsune Elders. Kyo-san and Ai-san were special guests and Aki was only five then. She still looked like a kit minus the elven ears or the fox ears and the bushy tail. The Elders were a little shocked at the way Aki looked but hadn't said anything. I heard them whisper, though...I was one of the Elder's grandson and I was allowed to be close to them without being scolded.
Kimara: Daiki-kun, you said you were eight when you met Aki-chan? *Daiki nodded.* But you also said that she was five when you met. *Daiki nodded again and everyone processed this thought. Kimara was the first to speak up.* But that means you're older than us! All of us.
Daiki, nodding: Yea...I'm actually a third year if I enrolled in my right age.
Kunikida: But you didn't. Is it because of Aki-chan? *Daiki nodded again.*
Daiki: You see Aki's childhood wasn't very good. Her parents of course loved her and supported her all the way but that was just the opinion of two people against an entire clan. Aki wasn't directly despised but she was whispered amongst the adults and then she was ignored by the children. Sometimes there were those who so her through her human appearance and tried to befriend her but the adults and other kids with always change their minds.
Kunikida: And you?
Daiki: I wasn't much better off. I would constantly tease her and bully her. But I made sure none would cross the line. *He, of course, left out the part that he almost unintentionally killed her. He could already feel Mike's glare when he mentioned bullying Aki.* I didn't know why she always cried when I did the bullying...even though she went through hell in other boys' hand she always came out looking haughty, a little ragged and then she'd fight back. But when I did it she always crumbled and cried and I'd feel really bad.
Kimara:Did..did you comfort her when she cried?
Daiki: I... *Daiki thought for a moment before answering.* I guess I did, when she did cry I would stop teasing her and tell her I'm sorry and I'd bring her home. Her father would lecture me and often sent me back with a glare. But there was one time when someone was bullying her, a kid older than us both and she was fighting with him but he was winning so I...uhh...I kind of set the kid on fire. He was running around after that, trying to put out the fire...I thought Aki didn't know but later that day she thank me and brought me present. *I still keep it with me. He thought.*
*Kimara looked at Daiki and thought over what Daiki said. She knew why Aki had always cried when it was Daiki teasing her. Why she couldn't stand being ridiculed by him. Kimara felt a little pain...Aki had liked Daiki before. It might be when they were kids but she had liked him before. Daiki continued with his tale, Kimara had winced at Aki's childhood. She couldn't believe how many bad things had happened to Aki. Kimara was never ignored, she wasn't always the first choice but at least as she grew up she had a loving family and a good circle of friends. She wasn't ridiculed or picked on until that Kenta(is he the right guy?) had started that stupid pack of his and began bullying those who hadn't joined. Kimara listened to Daiki, from what he said he would actually be the nicest among the kitsunes to Aki. He did bully her but he provided her with companionship-in a twisted way- and made sure no one would cross the line. In a way, he protected her. Kimara just didn't understand why he chose to show it that way.*
Daiki:...And then Kyo-san decided that they should leave the clan. He couldn't stand seeing Aki depressed and an outcast. The Elders were outraged at having lost two of their best. So months later when they heard of a war formulating somewhere they told me to get Aki.
Kunikida: Why?
Daiki: Aki's the offspring of the two bests in our clan...Aki would be considered one of the best as well if they accepted her. She' strong and the Elders know of that. She's not only good with skills and strategy but also with magic. She can fight a hand-to-hand combat and fight with magic. That is an asset to the Kitsune Clan. If they plan to make her a heroine to the clan then I wouldn't be here and Aki would be with me. *Daiki felt another glare pierce him, he knew it came from Mike.* But they don't care about her, they just want to use her as sacrifice, a pawn...bait. So I said I'd go fetch her but I won't give Aki to them. I won't. I'm still stalling, though...they think I'm having a hard time convincing Aki to come with me, which is a good reason so I nodded to that. I said I couldn't take her by force because her parents will likely object. And they would hunt me and probably the other kitsunes down. The Elders were terrified by the two of them so they let me manage at my own pace.
Kimara: Won't they know that you're lying to them?
Daiki: They might but a Kitsune is trained to know how to deceive...we use the element of surprise and deception to win wars. If the enemy has strength we have our minds, if they have minds, we use strength and strategies. If they have both, we use magic with deception and a surprise element. None would be the wiser if we struck.
Kunikida, chuckling: No wonder Kitsunes only lost a few wars.
Daiki: Yea, we use different kinds of tactics. That's how we're trained...learn to think inside the box before planning outside the box. Then we should always have plans to back-up our back-up plans.
Kunikida: Ne, Daiki-kun you said you'd tell the whole story about you and Aki-chan?
Daiki: Oh, right.

Mike: They won't take her, they can try all they want, I won't let them. I'll be protecting her. Kitsune deception?? Right, sneek up and shoot a man in the back with a magic poisoned arrow. What's to say he isn't lying now, that he still plans to steal Aki for the elders?
*Daiki glared at Mike. What made this arrogant human think he could defend Aki against the elders? He's a fool...... Daiki noticed the slight glow under Mike's shirt, an aura of magic. What kind of device did the human have? Daiki had seen the glow when they fought the gang. Did Mike actually think that anything the humans had could stand up against the elders? Daiki looked at Mike's eyes and almost shuddered. There was something dark and inhuman behind those eyes. Daiki looked away.*
Mike looked down, maybe he was wrong. Maybe Daiki was just trying to protect Aki......... but he still owed Daiki for that arrow, he wouldn't forget that. Mike's look softened. Mike knew, Aki had chosen him, he was the one she asked to bring her to school. Aki was still his girlfriend..... Daiki didn't own her....... Mike smiled, then looked at Kimara.*
Mike: That call I just got...... It was Aki.....*Mike picked up Kimara and let out a yell as he swung her around over his head, almost bouncing her off the ceiling.* Aki's coming back! She wants me to pick her up in the morning! Her dad's letting her come back to school!
Daiki scowled..... he wasn't happy that Mike was going to pick up Aki......... he wasn't happy when Kimara excitedly hugged Mike, and bounced around the room hugging everybody..... Daiki didn't mind though when Kimara hugged him, a bit longer than she did the others.

*Daiki was a bit surprised by the warmth of Kimara's hug. He was also surprised at his own reaction..... his heart was beating faster and he felt a little flushed. Kimara blushed as she backed away. Daiki couldn't help thinking she looked so cute when she blushed like that.... Daiki turned away and looked at the others.*
Daiki: I...ah,... I think we should maybe wait with the meeting till Aki is here. I guess I should take Kimara home.
Kunikida: Good idea, then we would all be here. I got a couple dates from the school that could work, earliest is in a few weeks. That wouldn't give us a lot of time to plan things.
Mike: I checked with the school, there are funds available for the clubs to put on things like this, so that shouldn't be a problem. We can start on details tomorrow.
*They broke into their small groups and headed home. Daiki was walking a lot closer to Kimara than he had yesterday. Mike headed off with Kunikida.*
Kunukida: It's great that Aki is going to be back.... Guess you'll be going out with her again.
Mike, grinning: Yup.
Kunikida: So what are you going to do with your other girl?
Mike: Huh?? What other girl?
Kunikida: Selene. What's the matter? don't you notice anything, she's after you like a mouse after cheese. Damn, I wish I were that lucky, she's one of the hottest girls in school, but she hardly ever says a word to anyone else.
Mike: It's not like that, she's just a good friend. Selene even told me I should try to talk to Aki, that maybe I was wrong about things.
Kunikida: Ya, while she had her fingers crossed, hoping Aki wasn't coming back. *sighs* must be nice being the tallest guy around.
Mike: maybe you should try talking to her. Selene's really nice.
Kunikida: As if a girl like that would ever notice me.

* Hideki smiled as Rina dragged him out of the clubroom. Aki coming back to school was really good news. He looked at Sei, then at Rina. *
Hideki: Michael and Daiki will stop glaring when one of them gives up on Aki.
* He said jokingly and laughed, not noticing two boys waiting outside the school as they left. One of them tried to walk towards them but the other one took his arm. *
???: No. We'll do it when he's alone. Let's go back for now.
* The two turned around and left while Hideki, Rina and Sei left in the opposite direction. *

Hideki: Don't worry, it hasn't... mostly. Yesterday was just an evaluation mission... and I don't really know if I did well enough, anyway.
* Hideki laughed a little then took Rina's hand and gave her a quick kiss. *
Hideki: I'll see you tomorrow. Take care.

*Daiki walked next to Kimara as they cut through the park. She liked to come this way. Daiki was very conscious of how close the small dog girl was to him, he couldn't get her warm hug out of his head. No girl had ever done that....... Daiki looked around... damn, he should...... Kimara screeched as Daiki threw her to the ground and sprawled on top of her. Quickly Daiki untangled himself and leaped for the trees across the path. He dodged through the trees and came to a gate in the park fence, Daiki peered out at the crowd at the bus stop.*
*Daiki rushed back to Kimara, she was sitting huddled on the ground, frightened. Daiki knelt down and put his arms around her.*
Kimara: What..... what happened.
Daiki: I'm sorry. Are you Ok? I thought I saw something, it's alright, you'll be alright. And where the hell were those people supposed to be watching us? *Daiki helped Kimara up, He glanced at the steel shaft of the crossbow bolt sticking out of the tree. Daiki knew he had to be more alert. If he found that person who tried to hurt Kimara, he'd tear them to shreds.*
*The Level Zero agent stood at the gate looking at the crowd. He hadn't seen the attacker before it was to late, and the attacker was to fast, couldn't be human. Could it be another spartan? Damn, Kelly was going to be pissed that he'd lost the guy.*
A figure in the bus crowd: Damn that fox boy. He looked up just in time, the shot missed by millimeters. S**t, this would make it harder next time.

*That night, Mike wrote Yuki another message. Mike told her what had been happening that day, and about the threat from the Tsuchimi family. Mike also told Yuki he still didn't know what to do with a girlfriend, so asked her to please keep helping him learn what to do...... Mike smiled..... he'd see her again in the morning.*
*That night, Mike dreamed of soft, sea green hair and pretty crimson eyes.*
*In the morning, Mike hurried to Aki's house, anxious to see her again. Kyo was waiting at the gate for him. Mike bowed.*
Mike: Good morning Ayashi-san.
Kyo: You said you'd take care of her....... I'm holding you to that, I'm entrusting something very precious to you...... someday, when you're a father, you may understand.
Mike: I'll do my best, sir. *Mike, stopped, holding his breath, Aki came out the door, she looked better to him than any of his dreams.*
*Ai watched her daughter, pleased to see her so happy again. Ai liked the tall young man, she'd sensed a good heart in him..... and something more...... And, well, it didn't hurt any that he was so tall, and looked like a handsome Viking warrior. Ai blushed a little, and laughed, ah, if she were a schoolgirl again. Ai remembered Kyo and herself when they first began dating.*
