* As soon as they left, Chisato looked at Hideki. *

Chisato: Hideki, I don't--

Hideki: Sorry, we'll have to talk later. I'm late for dad's training.

Chisato: ... will you tell him?

Hideki: No, and I would appreciate you didn't, either.

* Chisato sighed and turned around. *

Chisato: Whatever. Just remember you owe me an explanation. A really good one.

* Hideki made a face while turning around to leave. He ran towards the shrine, trying not to think about anything. When he got there, Michael was already there. Minoru hadn't gotten there yet, though. Koichi walked up to Hideki and slapped him in the back of the head. *

Koichi: Where the hell have you been, boy?

Hideki: Sorry, dad, there was a problem at school...

Koichi: Whatever. Where's Minoru?

Hideki: I have no idea. I guess he must still be at school being interrogated by the cops.

Koichi: Was it THAT bad?

* Hideki only smiled awkwardly and shrugged. *

Koichi: Anyways, this boy here says you invited him. Says he can train with us.

Hideki: I don't see any--

Koichi: Silence, boy! We are late already so we'll skip stretching and all that. Let's see what's your progress. You!

* Koichi pointed at Michael. *

Koichi: Get your sorry ass up here! You're gonna spar with this bag of beans here.

Hideki: Bag of beans?

Koichi: Shut up, boy! That's your new "rank" until you show me you can do better than this morning. Now go!

*Aki picked up the phone when it rang. Rina was on the line, asking if she had her bag.*

Aki: No, Kimara-chan has your bag. *Aki couldn't say that she left shortly afterward, that would just worry Rina like it had worried Kimara, and Aki didn't want her friends to worry so much about her.* Thank goodness you're okay...does your wound still hurt? I have some good medicine for it if it still does.

Rina:oh k...hmm theh wound?oh it's ok....what's weird is their isnt any mark or scar?...anyway what do you think about the attacker...obviously he or she tried to attack hideki whats worse...is i have an hint that i fought with an elf...*she let herself falls flat on her bed,holding in her right hand next to her ear her phone*

*Aki sat on her bed.*

Aki: An elf? *Aki was silent for awhile.* Well, that's possible, the fighting style I saw the attacker use was somewhat like the elven style...and the height was almost the same as you, a few centimeters taller, I would guess. The question is why did they want to attack Tsuchimi-sempai...*Aki remembered what her mother told her about the Tsuchimi family. It was possible that an elf could have done that, especially if Hideki's family had done something horrible.* Rina-chan, you know about the Tsuchimi family, right?

Mike had a silly grin: Bean bag?? I've heard guys called lots of things, but that's a new one. *Laughs, then sees the wary look on Hideki's face, he knew Hideki must be worried about him. Mike turns a serious look at Hideki.* Don't worry, I can handle whatever you've got. Go for it.

*Mike takes a defensive stance and easily blocks Hideki's first attack. Mike uses a couple light feints, then easily brushes off another blow from Hideki. Mike backed off and stood up.

Mike: You're holding back, that was nothing like the speed you used when you pinned that demon yesterday. I told you I can take it, now, give me your best shot.

*Those had been good blows, enough to flatten just about any human Mike knew of, but he knew Hideki could do better, and Mike had to know how far he could push his friend without overpowering him. It just wasn't time for Mike to let out how much training he'd had, or his true abilities, just yet.

* Minoru walks next to Koichi, who was watching the two of them spar. *

Minoru: Hey, dad.

* Koichi elbows Minoru and he falls to the floor. *

Koichi: Don't "hey" me, son! You're late!

Minoru: *cough* Not my fault! There was a problem at school!

* Koichi ignored him and concentrated in Michael and Hideki again. Those stances look an awful lot like Krav Maga and Systema... Where does a boy as young as him gets trained in special forces' martial arts? Hideki stepped back and flailed his arms around to stretch his muscles. *

Hideki: You are holding back, too. I didn't knew you were this good, should have guessed it, though.

* Hideki lunged forward suddenly, striking with his knee. Michael blocked easily and threw a kick, while Hideki sidestepped, setting himself on the ground and blocked the kick. He wanted to grab Michael's leg to bring him down, but Michael moved away and threw a punch before he could. Hideki deflected the blow and moved in trying to elbow him but again, Michael blocked him with his free hand. Hideki moved away, dodging Michael as he tried to grab him by the collar with his extended arm. *

Hideki: Oooh... this is nice. I like that style, how is it called?

*Now Hideki was moving fast, the fight was almost a blur. Mike was surprised at his speed, he hadn't ever encountered a human who could move so quickly. Mike was actually working up a good sweat. In the several forms of martial arts that Hideki had used, he seemed as well trained as Mike. It was just the fact that Mike was not a human that gave him the advantage, and the advantage of having trained in a number of military fighting styles.*

Mike; It's called systema, and it's not very commonly used. (Quietly to Hideki, so the others couldn't hear.) You wouldn't want me to go all out, believe me....... I don't want to lose a friend. (Then louder) How about taking a break for a few minutes..... I could use some water about now.

* Hideki looked at his dad, to see what he said. Koichi nodded and Hideki relaxed a little. *

Koichi: You two take a rest. I'm going to give this infant a workout for being late.

* Minoru made a face but followed his dad without saying a word. Hideki took a couple of water bottles from his dad's portable refrigerator and gave one to Michael. *

Hideki: Systema looks interesting. Tell you what, teach me some of those moves ad I'll teach you some from our style, Koppo.

Mike: Alright, I'd like to learn your style....... but, you have to be very careful with systema, it's, not just a defensive type skill, it's true form is..... very lethal. I don't think it's illegal to teach it, but I know that it is never taught outside our, ah....... our group. Just don't let anyone else know, Ok.

*Mike watched Hideki's dad and brother, they were good, very good, but Mike felt Hideki was better..... when he wanted to be. And, how could his family be this fast and strong, no other humans Mike had trained with matched their abilities. Were they a natural aberration, or was there some other secret, somewhere in there family's past.*

*Mike thought back to the afternoon, and Aki's fighting stance when they faced the demons. What skills did the little Kitsune girl possess? Somehow Mike had to find out. Now he knew Hideki could take care of himself, and he had seen Rina fight, maybe a bit too reckless and brave, but she had some skill in her attack, Kunida was a mystery yet, but didn't seem like a fighter like Hideki, and gentle Kimara certainly was no fighter. So what could Aki do? It was good to know what assets were available in a crisis.*

Hideki: No problem, then. Koppo has some really violent moves, too.

* Hideki looked down as he remembered a few of the most dangerous ones, developed for use against foes with magic and above average natural armor. hideki took another drink then patted Michael's arm. *
