Also after you watch KamiKaze Girls, pick up the novel!

I agree, the novel version of Battle Royale was the very definiton of AMAZING!! I have never before felt so much of a mixture of awe and horror at the same time.

the only book i would touch are mangas. but there were some novel that i was forced to read and liked it like Holes, The Outsiders, Cather in The Rye, and i chose to read "Unfortunate Events" for a mandatory free reading. Hamlet was pretty good in the end because it was really violent. the books i mentioned were all read in high school.

Not to forget Orwell's 1984.

Yes that was a compelling book to read, in the 1960's. Amazing how things have changed....... and haven't. Another sort of in that vein to read is Watership Down.

I'm reading Eragon, I didn't see the movie, yet. The book isn't to bad, it's really Star Wars, retold using dragons and magic. Kind of fun for light reading though.

I just read all the Twilight series (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn) Ugh, don't bother. Twilight was good, in a melodramatic, over-the-top kind of way, New Moon was ridiculously melodramatic (the girl goes practically catatonic for months because the guy leaves her OBVIOUSLY for her own good!), Eclipse was completely unreadable, except for one teensy tiny part about one of the vampire's bloody past (get this, the catatonic girl is now in love with guy #2, but guy #1 is back, so she loves them both, just loves guy #1 more. HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?!?!), Breaking Dawn was absolutely off the wall, but about half way through gets somewhat bearable again.
*sigh*
Why did I waste my time with these?! AND WHY IN JIM'S NAME AM I GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE TOMORROW?!?!
...Oh, right. Because the lead guy is totally hot.... :thumb:

Ohhh I got a new stack of books... really old ones saying "Copyright 1949" it's a dozen of Karl May's adventure books. :ho: He was the guy who invented Winnetou. Now I wait a few days until I get sick again so I can start reading :pif:
