I just got Filleruto Season 1 in German I tell you it's horrible. Even worse than the english dub, I stopped watching after 10 minutes.

Anime seems to be no more fun to me now that it's mainstream :pif:

Well, Sally likes japanese anime. We also watched Disney's Rapunzel on Blu-ray.

That's cool :D Did you watch Tangled/Rapunzel in English? Though I don't think Disney is capable of ruining their films with the voices they choose, the original English voices are generally best (there are a few exceptions, in my not so humble opinion).

Generally any animated work should be best in it's original language, if you can understand it. I really envy you people for being able to learn and converse in more than one language. I am either too dumb, or to lazy to be able to do it........ probably both......... Yes, I did take foreign language in school, two years of German and five years of Latin. I use to know a little German, almost enough to converse a bit. I have forgotten it all.

I'm not a very big fan of subtitles, particularly fansubs which are notoriously bad. I have a hard time reading the lines and trying to make anything of the action. I only watch subs if there isn't a dub, or if the dub is particularly bad, in which case the sub usually isn't much better.

At anime detour con, I once asked one of the Japanese anime creators what he thought of his work being dubbed into English. If he thought we should be watching it in the subtitled version. He replied that he couldn't understand why we would want to waste our time reading subtitles when we could be watching the animation and listening to it in our own language.

I'm used to subtitles because we never had anything dubbed except for animated series/films, so I don't miss any action or anything reading the subtitles. Which is why I prefer to watch pretty much everything in its original language because one expects the original to be the best casted of all :'D

As for bad fansubs... Sometimes the official translations don't exactly do everything right either xD
