I don't really know where to put this, so I hope this is okay :')
I was wondering if any of you knew whether you need a work-permit in America if you're working voluntarily... There are so many contradicting articles it's really not clear anymore Dx

Just a quick question
Don't feed me violins.
Re: Just a quick question
I would still believer so, mainly because, of our State laws, even if voluntary, you need proof age to work and eligibility to work.
You don't see yourself clearly at all. You're not like anyone I've ever known. You Fascinate me.
Re: Just a quick question
The quick answer is, it depends...
When you say voluntarily do you mean that you won't be compensated? (Money or goods) If that is the case then it is not considered work and it is fine.
If you are getting compensated then it depends on the amount of work you are going to do, (Full time vs part time) and what type of visa you are coming over on. (work visa vs a student visa)
What will you be doing? Will you be compensated for it? How long will you be here? What type of visa are you comming over on?
Answering thos will help figure out what you can and can't do.

Re: Just a quick question
No compensation whatsoever. I thought it was for 2 weeks (or something)... And we don't need a visa, so.. xDD
Thank you :D

Re: Just a quick question
I suppose a visa is only if you are planning on staying for an exstended amount of time (more then one month).
Since there is no compensation you don't have to worry about any permit.
So were are you going in America?

Re: Just a quick question
It's for my brother xDD And he's not sure whether he's going yet, but this was part of his concern.. He doesn't know any Americans, so there was no one he could ask.. That's why I offered to help him out :')
