The books were great, read them three times. The movies... well they didn't ruin the books.

Oh no...... Don't get Dinky going on the LOtR movies. She has some definite opinions on how they messed a few things up.

:omg:
NEVER READ THE LoTR TRILOGY????? You BLASPHEMERS!!!!!!!!!
IMHO, the books are a billion times better than the movies, but then, what do you expect? Movies can't possibly hope to fully capture all the details, the backgrounds, every instance of everything that is the deep and wonderous world of Middle Earth (created and brought to life by the late, great J.R.R. Tolkien).
Are the movies good? Hell yes! I love them! But there are some glaring screw-ups in there that I just can't fathom why they changed what was in the books in the first place.
But seriously, people. You've never read the books? :sob:
I've read the trilogy (and the Hobbit) several times a year since 4th grade!!!! Not to mention the Silmarillion, the Lost Tales, etc.... THERE'S SO MUCH THERE!!
.....sometimes you have to lose your mind to find it......

Dinky may shoot me next time she sees me, but I've never read the books either. I liked the movies though.

She's never read the entire series of Dune.

I started reading one of the LoTR books (long time ago, don't remember which one) but fell asleep on the first few pages. It was a recounting of the genealogy of the hobbits or something like that... Went back to reading the Foundation Series, by Asimov.
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph... because good is DUMB!
