Server fun

Post by Sakura » April 21st, 2009, 12:56 pm

I have a new preference for server scripts - in fact I'm working on a fun collection of backup scripts. Right now I have scripts to backup: Databases, websites, configuration files, system backup. All these are automatically uploading to our backup ftp server.

Having a fast webserver is actually fun. The new provider has no problems with IRC servers. If it were of any use I'd reinstall our IRC and have CuteBot(c)(r)(tm) back but it's too much hassle with backups and updates for just the two or three of us.

Olray is happy too, because his CD has been downloaded several hundred times already. Because traffic here is unlimited he is offering a direct download - no hassle with BitTorrent and the like. Ready for any passing-by dumbuser.

Oh and I managed to increase speed by about 240% two weeks ago. Anyone noticed?

Hm what can we do with the remaining 403 GB of webspace?

All the anime picts on my system wouldn't fill up that much space, Kitten.
including the.....ah..... educational material.

here's a scan of an actual production sketch from the Anime Spice and Wolf

And a couple picts from the series

It's a very interesting anime and manga, it's actually a lesson in economics, and trading.
Dogs have owners, Cats have staff

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I have problems with my email system. Olray has no clue as usual *hides*

Can anyone think of a problem disallowing WORD attachments only from certain computers when using Webmail? I mean, "certain computers" like in: "not mine"

The customer isn't educated enough to file error reports. Any ideas accepted. ANY.
