Colombia is doing pretty well in these olympics, too. After getting 11 medals in all the history of the olympic games before this one, this year the Colombian athletes have received 8 medals already. These medals are even more impressive when one looks at the fact that, unlike countries like the USA, athletes in Colombia don't receive government subsidies or anything like that, they have to make due with their own funds and whatever backers they can find.

Great for your country! And, Mexico won the gold over Brazil in soccer. Looks like the USA has the lead in the medal count. That surprises me because China has put all it's country's effort behind their athletes, and they have almost a third of the world's population to chose from.

Most of the athletes money in the US comes from corporate sponsors.

sleep is always good, Hiki. I'm glad you had a good time.

I see Columbia had a gold medal winner, in the women's BMX cycling. :thumb:

Yeah, though I didn't get to see the competition, since I was in a meeting... we also got bronze on men's BMX, but of course that gold medal meant almost nobody paid attention to the poor guy.

The shed is pretty much finished. I have the painting yet to do....... and I hate painting, sigh. I started filling it with all sorts of my stuff. I moved most of my good wood in, my stack of Walnut and Red Cedar. I'll have to take a pict or three and post them.

The grandkids were here for a few days...... they left again this afternoon. They are lovable kids, but I'm getting too old to keep up with such young and active children. I get worn out. Lots of fun, and a bit of angst.

I picked upa notebook hard drive at a garage sale yesterday. It was 25 cents so I figured it was junk but I was going to take it apart to see what's inside.(I've always had to take things apart to see what makes them work.) Well, I plugged it into my universal drive connector, and the darn thing works. It's a 500gb Toshiba. People should really format a drive before they get rid of it.......... well, I have 125gb of movies and music to look through,....... sweet! I'll have to move those to another drive then format this one and check it out. I may get an external drive enclosure for it if it checks out alright.

@Oldwrench - as Sakura would say, was there any "educational matreial" on there?

If there was then I am really surprised that they didn't format or just toss the drive.
