They won't be making a sequel for the anime. The visual novel has a sequel, but it's more of a "fun disk" for fans. The PS2 version of the visual novel has an added bit after you've cleared everything (The good ending everyone was wishing for, although bittersweet endings are generally more highly regarded).

Fate/Stay Night was originally a visual novel. If you don't know what a visual novel is, it's basically like a choose your own adventure book with reading and background music (and most of the time with voice acting), or a date sim if you're familar with those. A fun disk is basically an extra story made up for fans. In the original PC version of the game, Saber does apparently die and the game ends (which is wierd, seeing how Shiro had given her back Avalon). In the PS2 port however, there's an extra scene after you clear the game where Shiro and Saber meet on a field of grass. This was very much a fairy tale ending, but if you take it as is, Shiro and Saber do reunite as a result of a miracle (it's the only way they explain it). Whether it's in the afterlife or not, no one knows, but she says "Welcome back" to Shiro.

The original game is but the anime isn't. There are actually a couple of anime like that lately, like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni and Shuffle!
So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph... because good is DUMB!

It'd be more accurate to call it a visual novel with hentai content than a hentai game. The story is superb, and if it didn't have those scenes I'd reccommend it to everyone (instead of just the guys)
