*Kelly was tired, Dr Freeman had been questioning her, and it had been a rough day. As she got to the door to leave his office, she looked back at the doctor, huddled over his papers.*
Kelly: I suppose, now that he's back, the plans for Mike and I to have a child for the project can go ahead.
Dr Freeman, without looking up: Yes, of course, this is a fortunate turn of ............. *He looked up* How do you know about that?
Kelly: I didn't, till now....... how could you.......... Why? Dr Freeman.
Dr Freeman: You have to understand, Kelly, we need this. That boy is almost immune to hard radiation, he could walk into a nuclear reactor and play with the fuel pellets and it wouldn't bother him. He's also almost immune to most magic, it's probably related to the other. Think of the abilities we could gain for the spartan project. We've tried to work with his DNA, we know it's almost the identical sequence to human, actually, even closer to the spartans. But that multi stranded DNA of his is impossible to work with, like trying to chip at cement blocks. That's why we have to have his child........ Your child, Kelly.
Kelly: and what makes you think that would actually work.
Dr Freeman: the legends, Kelly, in the ancient legends, there were human women that bore the children of the gods. If we have to, Kelly, we'll order Mike to co-operate.
Kelly opened the door: Right...... good luck. *Kelly was angry, how could they plan something like that...... and without even consulting her, or Mike, about it.*
*Kunikida sat up at his computer, it was getting very late, and he was about to give up when the machine finished transcoding the scrambled recordings from the surveillance plane. Kunikida was fascinated watching the picture. A big truck, rushing down the old railroad bed, with guns blazing like crazy. This was a weapon he hadn't seen before. He put on his headphones and listened in for any audio. In minutes it became obvious that this wasn't one of the military's weapons. They were trying to make contact. Kunikida moved the video ahead, till the truck was entering the city, suddenly the military made contact. Kunikida listened closely.*
*"That's why we cant get them, you idiot, we aren't using that frequency anymore."*
Kunikida: Ah, it's Kelly, it's one of their......
*"Sorry, How could I know they changed."*
Kunikida stiffened: Wait that sounded like..........
*"Alright, switch to........" "Kelly!! Kelly, we have you......" "Akira?? Thank god, we're gonna need some fire support..... And get the god damned door open, or I'll have Mike drive through it!!"*
*Kunikida stopped the playback and stared at the monitor............. It couldn't be, could it? But the truck was coming from the north, and the voice, he was sure of it, he knew that voice. It had to be............ Kunikida stared at the guns flaming from the truck, then sat back and laughed........ It had to be Mike, That truck was Mike's all the way. Mike was the only guy he knew who would use a sledge hammer to pound nails. Kunikida turned off the video and headed to bed. Wait till Hikeki hears about this.*
*Kunikida slid into bed and wrapped his arm around Selene. She snuggled close.*
Selene, in a sleepy murmur: Did you find anything important, sweety.
Kunikida: Well, sort of, I guess........ Mike's back.
Selene: Oh, that's nice.............. *After several moments, Selene sat bolt upright.* What?? Mike? You mean Micheal Tanaka...... from school?
Kunikida smiled: Yup.
Selene: Are you sure?
Kunikida: Well, I haven't seen him, but it was his voice, and Kelly called him Mike........ Besides he has a, well, you gotta see this truck. I'll show you the video. *They got out of bed and headed to the computer room.*
Selene: We have to tell Hideki. Was Aki with Mike?
Kunikida: I don't know, you can't tell on the video, and I didn't hear her. I hope she's with him. I think I'll wait a bit with telling Hideki, he's pretty wound up with Rina right now. We'll find a time when we can tell them both. Maybe we can find out something about AKi first.

*Kelly picked up Mike and Aki the next morning. Toru had stayed with Ai, she planned to take him shopping for cloths and toys and........ he was going to be overwhelmed by his new grandma.*
Kelly: I had some trouble getting your truck away from the army boys. They want that truck.
Akira (He was driving): Don't worry, I checked with a friend I have in the records department. Seems there's no record of that truck's serial number. I told the army boys it must have belonged to one of the construction companies.
Mike: But I found it at.......
Akira: Right, I told them you found it with some damaged heavy equipment....... and the guns you salvaged from some wreckage.
Mike: That isn't exactly the truth.
Akira: Well, none of it is a lie either....... just depends on how you interpret it.
*They soon arrived at a large warehouse type of building and entered a side door. There was Mike's truck, with about twenty men climbing in and out and over and under it. A small thin man in a lab coat jumped down and hurried toward them. he had grey hair and glasses, and seemed lik he'd had way to much coffee this morning.*
Kelly: This is Kew, out equipment specialist. He was supposed to resupply your truck.
Kew: Kelly, this machine is just....... Ah, you must be Mike... and Aki? Yes, This truck is just amazing, so much firepower in so...... Why didn't I think of this? Oh, right, I didn't have one of these trucks........ But here, I made some improvements, come along......
Kelly sighed as the little man hurried away: He asked if he could improve your communications and such.......... But, you never know with Kew.
Kew: Here, in the cab, we've added a communications and command and control system for the navigators seat. Wide spectrum video for the full 360 degrees. Latest helmet display, you put that helmet on and it's like you're sitting outside. Long and short range radio, satellite uplink, and full GPS. We added bars over the side windows...... heard you had a bit of trouble with demons getting in. Here on the sides, we've added a second machine gun and grenade gun, so you'll have four gunners inside. Those Gatling guns are wonderful, genius..... but that Vulcan must take a spartan to be able to move it....... I've ordered a Phalanx powered turret from the navy, we can set it up to be operated by a gunner and also tied to the command helmet.
Awed, Mike stepped around the back: Geeze! What's this?
Kew: Oh, we had that laying around, 75mm autoloading cannon. Twelve rounds in the magazine and twelve in storage. Thought it might be good to have. Not a lot of traverse for aiming mounted like that but, could be handy if you need to knocked a building down or something.
Mike stared at the barrel a moment, then grinned: I like big guns.
Kelly: Alright Kew, you have one hour to finish up, we have to head out.
Kew, Well, other than the Phalanx mount, we should have things ready to go.

*The group went to Kelly's office and discussed the Mission to look for Hideki. Kelly set up a projector system and started putting surveillance pictures on the screen.*
Kelly: This is the area south of the city that I think Hideki might have gone to. We know there has been a lot of action by the demons in the area, and they must be attracted to something, but we rarely see human activity. We have had some sightings of vehicles around this area, but it's to scattered to make any determinations of where they might be coming from.
Mike: What's this area, with the large buildings? It looks like industrial or military.
Kelly: it's an abandoned Military hospital complex. But we've kept that area under watch, there hasn't been any activity there, not even the monsters go there.
Mike: Not even monsters? Hmmm, can we get a closer view of the area?
Kelly: I can zoom in, but you won't find anything. *Kelly zoomed in and cycled through More than a dozen pictures.
Mike: Stop there....... go back a couple frames....... Now ahead again........
*Mike smiled, his acute Aesir eyesight had picked up on small details. Mike looked at Aki, she was smiling too, with her kitsune eyesight, she'd noticed discrepancies in the pictures too. Pieces of shadow where they didn't belong. Objects that should have changed with age, that didn't.*
Mike: It has to be Kunikida's work...... That's where we look Kelly.
Kelly: What? I didn't see anything.
Mike: That's because they don't want you to........ Your surveillance systems been hacked, Kelly. They're covering up any sign of habitation on your pictures. And if they're covering up in that area, that's where we'll look.
*The group got back to the truck and got ready to head out. Kelly brought a different driver, since Samuel was busy and unable to come along, and Mike would have to run the Vulcan cannon. They had four other soldiers manning the side guns, and Mike helped Aki get settled into the Command system. Aki learned very fast how to operate the communications gear, and was amazed by the helmets display. As the truck headed across the bridge, Mike asked Aki to switch to a private channel so they could talk.*
Mike: Aki, I haven't told you before, but for several weeks, I've had a recurring dream. I don't know if it means anything, but...... I dreamed we were all together at the old school. You and I, Kunikida and Selene, Daiki and Kimara, Hideki......... and Rina. I know Kelly said she died, but, it just doesn't feel right, that she would be there in the dream with us........... Aki, do you believe in premonitions.... in dreams? Could it be, or is it just because I want it to be?

Aki: I don't think that Rina is dead either...others might call it wishful thinking but just as you said about Hideki, Rina is tough and she won't go down that easily. I think...I think maybe your dream is a premonition, a sign that everyone is alive and well...that we'll get to see each other again...*Aki's sigh was wistful. She missed her friends very much. *Then Kimara wiped away the tears that came out, she didn't want to cry on the street so she held onto her composure. Ai invited Fumio and Kimara for dinner as she explained where Mike and Aki was at the moment. Kimara said that she would bring Daiki along for dinner before they parted ways.*

*Ringo looked through her field glasses. This was something new, and she didn't like it. The big truck was studded with guns, and that was a minigun on the front of the cargo box. But what the heck was that big gun on the back, it looked like a minigun on steroids........ must be three times as big. Damn, what was the military doing here, and with that thing? She'd just have to stop them from finding the headquarters. She turned to her subordinates.*
Ringo: Call for back up, and tell them to bring a tow missile. I'm going to go hold them off till reinforcements get here....... Whatever you do, don't start a firefight with that thing till they get a missile here..
*The driver stopped the truck as a young woman stepped out into the middle of the road in front of them.*
Kelly yelled: Hey, you got a death wish or something, get out of the way.
Ringo: Not a chance, what are you doing here.
Kelly: That's not your business, now move your ass.
Ringo: Forget it bitch, nobody passes here.
Kelly swung the minigun and pointed it at Ringo: I said move your ass or we'll drive over your pieces.
*Mike reached around and put his hand on the minigun, pushing the barrel up.*
Mike: Hey, ease up Kelly.......... I'll handle this. *Mike jumped down and walked toward Ringo.* We're here looking for a guy named Hideki, know where I can find him?

Kelly: I'm going to take her out.
Mike: I told you, I'll handle this, now stay out of it. *Mike pushed off the front of the truck mumbling.* Damn, magic, I hate fighting magic. *Louder* Alright, I tried being nice, but now you're making me mad.
Ringo: Oh, geeze, don't scare me.... *Laughs*
*Mike charged at Ringo, only to be stopped like running into a solid wall. Not one to give up, Mike slammed harder against Ringo's telekinetic force. Mike couldn't figure out why he couldn't break through the magic...... but telekinesis isn't really magic. Mike strained at the barrier holding him........ Ringo braced herself.... Oh crap, this guy must be a spartan, he's at least as strong as Hideki. I hope the backup gets here soon.

*Rina had left hideki,she felt a bit angry to have waste time into trying to go to the school and what the hell was wrong with the monsters,she walk out of the compund,she sees a truck not too far from where she came out,her eyes widen with shock at the girl in front of her,sure her hair was longer than before and she's abit taller than before but she knows her friend better than anyone that's aki.she sneak up behind her and tap on her shoulder,as predicted the kitsune reacted fast and tried to punch her but rina grab the punch looking at aki she smile.*
Rina:ow!that would have hurt aki-chan!
*seeing aki's face turn pale as if she'd seen a ghost made her smile even wider,she hug her friend*

*Aki blinked. Rina was smiling at her. RINA!!! Then Rina hugged her and Aki snapped out of her shocked state. She hugged Rina fiercely.*
Aki: Rina! Oh it really is you! I knew you couldn't be dead! You're too strong for that! I've...I've missed you! *Aki was starting to cry with the turmoil of emotions inside her. Rina was fine and Hideki, Kunikida and Selene were probably fine too!*
*Aki heard Rina chuckle and Aki pulled away form the hug and held Rina at arm's length, she studied the changes that overcame her friend. Rina still looked the same, maybe taller and her face matured but it was she still looked much like the old Rina and that made Aki smile.*
*Aki wiped the the wetness from her eyes, she didn't want to bawl right now, she wanted to ask Rina a lot of questions but she remembered that Mike was still facing off with that girl. Holding onto Rina's hand Aki took a look at how Mike was faring.*

*Mike felt like he was trying to walk into a hurricane, but now wind was blowing. There was no way he would let some girl keep him out. Mike didn't notice, the amulet that increases his strength wasn't glowing. Mike had decided he could do this on his own......... and as long as he wasn't really in danger, he was on his own.*
*Ringo strained against the big guy, she was nearly at the limit of her ability. Nobody but Hideki had been able to equal her Telekenisis. Damn, doesn't this gorilla know when to give up? Doesn't he ever get tired? Ringo's head was starting to hurt.*
*The pavement started to buckle under Mike's heavy boots, and Ringo began to be forced backward, Unable to hold her position. Ringo stepped back onto some broken pavement and twisted her ankle. Her concentration broke and she stumbled. Mike almost fell as the barrier disappeared.*
Mike: Ha..... got ya!! *Mike jumped forward......... now Mike hadn't thought about what he would do when he got to the girl. In fact, he'd probably have to stop and think about it, which would give her time to whack him a good one.......Oh well, it didn't get that far, yet.*
Ringo: Oww!... Damn!.....
*Ringo used her power to lift a big piece of pavement and hurl it at Mike. Mike slid back some as he caught the piece and threw it aside. Ringo then sent a bunch of smaller pieces at Mike and he swatted them aside like flies.*
Ringo: Damn, he's to fast, that won't work either.
*Ringo sent a big piece of utility pole straight at Mike, it hit him square in the stomach, driving him back almost to the truck again...... Kelly watched, getting interested. Telekinesis, it had to be, they'd worked with it, but she'd never seen anyone with that much ability. Damn, Mike better not hurt that girl. Maybe she should do something to stop this. Kelly really wanted to talk with that girl. Kelly swung the gun between the two again.*
*Mike picked up the big post and broke it in two over his knee.*
Mike: If that's the best you got, supergirl, Your going down.....
Ringo: Not in your lifetime, ya damned big ape.
