5 Minutes - Reloaded

[Zeratul2k]

* A luxurious private transport vessel landed in the main hangar of the Krikav, scorted by four of the latest space superiority fighters (thought by everyone except the highest ranks in the military to be still in experimental stage). Daniel and Johana looked around at the marines standing guard next and behind them. *

Daniel: Looks important...

Johana: Indeed... let's just hope he isn't an arrogant prick.

* Daniel looked down, suppresing a laugh while the main door of the transport opened and two persons, a tall, muscular man in a tuxedo carrying a briefcase and a young looking man, wearing jeans and a black jacket and carrying a katana. *

Daniel: Welcome aboard the CWS Krikav, senator.

* The young man looked around, uninterested. *

Young Man: Whatever... I'm tired, where's my room?

Daniel: Right next to mine, senator. Let me show you the way, the Warrant Officers will take care of your luggage.

* The senator and the guy in the tuxedo followed Daniel and Johana to the officer's quarters. *

* Rydia walked into the hangar and waved to Dominic and Aidan. *

Rydia: Did you find it, Dom?

Dominic: Yes, I did.

* Dominic tapped his pocket and turned towards Aidan. *

Dominic: Let's go, pal. We have to go back to the city.

**** CWS Krikav, Officer's Quarters ****

* The young senator was sitting with his feet on the desk, looking at the ceiling with a bored look on his face while the tall guy in the tuxedo was typing rapidly on a small laptop next to him. After a few minutes, the senator jumped from his chair, startling the tuxedo guy. *

Senator: Nothing yet?

Tuxedo guy: Nothing yet, sir. You shouldn't worry, though, there's still time.

* The laptop made a beeping sound and both of them looked at the screen. The senator grinned slightly after reading the message on screen. *

Senator: It's a good lead. Tell them to leave a team on watch, in case he comes back. The rest should keep looking, just in case.

* The senator opened a folder that was laying on the desk and took a picture from it. *

Senator: If he comes back, stick to him like glue. I'll be the one to kill him...

* He threw the picture in the air and quickly drew his sword, cutting it twice in a split second. *

[Freya]

*Georgianna's eyes focus to see the hallway where she had been talking to Chad. She stumbles a bit and leans against the wall*

Georgianna: I must have....gotten dizzy....

*Georgianna makes her way slowly to the hangar to find Chad, but only finds a bunch of recruits who all hail her as she passes*

Recruit 1: Hello there Captain!

Recruit 2: That was a great demonstration you gave us a little bit ago!

*A third recruit shoots a nasty look at the second recruit as Georgianna smiles nervously and makes her way back out to the hallway*

Georgianna: demonstration?....

*Georgianna enters the cafeteria and finds Chad speaking to Tammy. Georgianna starts to wave to Chad then notices the bartender and feels a chill down her spine*

*Ferandez looks up and sees Georgianna as she walks in. Being the ever cheerful bartender, he waves and gives her a grin*

Ferandez: she looks a bit pale... Julvonski better not have messed things up...

*Hesitantly Georgianna heads over to the smiling bartender*

Georgianna: Hello, how has your day been Ferandez?

Georgianna: how did I know his name???

*Ferandez's grin falters a bit before he can stop it*

Ferandez: My day has been fine Captain, but how did you know my name?

Georgianna: I'm not exactly sure, I must have seen it on a file somewhere...

*Georgianna's sense of unease settles as she convinces herself of the excuse and she sits on a stool in front of the bar*

Ferandez: Oh, right!

Ferandez: that was close!

Ferandez: So, what can I get for you?

*Tammy listened, fascinated, to Ben's account of the battle. Ben was only too happy to embellish the tale, especially when it came to his marksmanship. As his tale came to an end, Tammy told them she had to return to her work, but she hoped they would be able to get together again soon. As Tammy left, Ben turned to Chad, sounding more serious.*

Ben: There are some strange things going on, this is supposed to be just an escort mission for some diplomat, but I have a feeling there's more going on. We have some strange equipment, more suited to a ground mission. And we have been issued some pretty detailed maps, not space maps, city and surface maps.

Chad: I know what you mean, I got some odd stuff too. Mostly for espionage. I wonder where we're going.

Ben: We haven't been told, the maps don't give names, at least not yet. I suppose we'll find out after we launch. But there's more, it's captain Georgianna, she really hasn't been the same since her mech shut down after the battle at Mar Sara. She seems kind of spaced out at times, like the lights are all on, but nobody's home......... you know?

Chad: I heard her mech shut down. You said after the battle? What happened.

Ben: Well, not really after, but pretty much so. She had all the pilots out of the enemy mechs, and was holding the field when we got there. The Krikav arrived, then her mech just shut down. it took a long time to restart, longer than normal I think. She had to be taken to the med unit, sitting in there with the life support out for that long really almost got her. Maybe that's why she's so out of it at times.

Chad: Life support shut down? But that's on a separate system, with failsafe backup. It can't shut down. *Chad sees Georgianna sitting at the bar.* What the hell is going on? was that more sabotage that we didn't find? ......... Who's the bartender? Georgianna seems to know him.

*Aidan walked behind Dom and Rydia. He had so many questions still burning up inside him but for now he just needed to relax and take in the surrounding. Realizing that he dosn't need the crutches as much anymore, he sets one down and takes apart the other to create a makeshift cane.*

Aidan: Right, So I'll obviously follow you guys...lead away.

[Zeratul2k]

* Daniel took a look at the last report. Everything was going according to schedule. He relaxed on his chair and took a sip from his coffee when the sliding door to the bridge opened and an angry looking Rose made her way towards him. *

Rose: I hope you have a good reason to make those... those... IDIOTS take me from my apartment in the middle of the night!!!

Daniel: ... You were sent a notification where it was clearly specified that if you didn't report to me today, you would be forcefully brought aboard.

Rose: I don't recall receiving it.

* Daniel kept talking, ignoring Rose's answer. *

Daniel: We are leaving tomorrow towards Shakuras. I'll need you around to find Mr. Torres.

Rose: What? First you label him a deserter and now you want me help you find him? Why don't you go fu--

Daniel: I wouldn't finish that phrase if I were you, miss. Mr. Torres life might be in danger and, right now, I'm the only one that can help him.

* Rose bit her lip and looked down, feeling defeated. She stormed out of the bridge and towards her assigned quarters, pushing everyone out of her way. *

**** Natural cave formation in the outskirts of Telematros, Capital of Shakuras ****

* Rydia, Dominic and Aidan left the Erebus and walked a few meters away from it. Rydia turned around, took a small remote and pointed it at the Erebus. A beeping sound, kind of like a car's alarm, came from the remote and the Erebus slowly dissapeared from their sight. *

Dominic: Rydia, I have to call Henry to let him know what we have. Could you take Aidan to my apartment? I'll be back in an hour or so.

Rydia: Sure.

* Rydia smiled at Aidan and began walking. *

Rydia: Come on, it's a short way from here.

* After Rydia and Aidan had left, Dominic took out a cell phone and called a taxi. *

*Aidan walked slightly behind Rydia as they entered the city. Looking around he immediately noticed how old fashoned it was. No, he though, that's wrong. it's more like the technology of the central planets dosn't extend out this far.*

Aidan: (hoping to sound casual) So you were the one fireing at us during that whole Mar Sara thing... from that giant mecha sitting in the bay on your ship right?

*upon getting no response, he continues talking.*

Aidan: You've got to have yourself some mad skills to be able to efficently pilot something that huge. I remember the one time I tried to pilot a heavy class mecha, y'know, just in a simulator... anyways I nearly crashed into the base I was trying to protect.

* Rydia looked back at Aidan and smiled. *

Rydia: Once I overheard the people that used to prepare the Atropos said I was special, that I was the only one able to pilot it. I don't know what they meant, though, since I don't remember training as much as Dominic told me your people do.

* She looked ahead again, and greeted back at a couple that was passing by. *

Rydia: And about that battle... I had no choice at the moment, the same as you and Dominic had no choice but to attack us.

* She stopped in front of an apartment building and turned around again. Looking saddened this time. *

Rydia: We were all following orders that day.

* She stayed silent for a while then lighted up again. *

Rydia: Oh, look! We are here already. Come on, let's go!

* On the other side of the road, a drunk guy was sitting in the sidewalk and holding a bottle of booze with a hand. He looked at the two who had just showed up, took out a cellphone and dialed a number. *

???: Two soldiers walking into the fortress. No sign of the king yet.

[Freya]

Georgianna: Oh! uhm, hot coffee would probably be best right now, I'm feeling kind of out of it. But I was gonna go sit with the others so could you just yell when it's ready?

Ferandez: Of course ma'am. I'll have it ready in a bit.

*Georgianna smiles in thanks and hops off the stool to go to the others. She strolls over and perches quietly on a chair near the table everyone was gathered at*

*Chad sees Georgianna sit near them, and turns to her. Chad put on a smile, hiding his true feelings.*

Chad: Hi Georgianna, it's been a while, how have thing been since I've been gone?

*Chad tried hard to hide what he was thinking. The look in her eyes, he'd seen that look before, in the inner city. Drugged, she had that vacant look, something hard to describe, but he'd seen it before, on people who were drugged........ Or on the poor kids that had their minds altered by the legal system. Something was wrong here, was it from the mech accident, or something else? Was Georgianna into something she couldn't handle? What should he do? It should be the job of the med techs to make sure she was alright. She must be alright or the Co or the med techs would pull her in. He would have to just keep an eye on her and see.*
