Any way to test on another machine in Release mode and see how it acts?

I would think that using still pictures, frame rate wouldn't matter much. If you are trying to read text, you need a lot longer for the frome to remain on the screen. I'd say go with what you have.

The bad news is that I haven't gotten any further on the code recently. The good new is that I have contacted an artist and I am going to commission a background for the game. It will be of the inside of the store. If I like the look then I will probably begin commisioning more backgrounds for the game. So soon we will not need to look at the horrible X any more.

Actually since Hiki is doing the characture drawings, that would be her department.
Although I suppose I could commision an S&M dungon background.
