Rina:strange...what do you-*she looks down at hideki,her face went red at the position she was in*this brings back memorie..*grins*

* Hideki looks away embarrased while helping Rina up. *

Hideki: Did you hear that?

* He looks around, clearly uncomfortable. *

Hideki: I don't like this...

[Raine]

Rina:geez i just fell on top of you...nothing big happen*chuckles at the look hideki gave her,walks ahead of him*

Rina*phone rings*:huh?at this distance?...*looks at her phone*Miri?..hello?

Miri:Oneesan!!!!

Rina:Miri what's wrong?!

Miri:don't have time to explained...i was only able to use the satelite for afew minutes...listen well,your friends are alive!!all of them1!!including that guy you were with in highschool...im going to fi-

Rina:Miri!!!miri!!..*looks at hideki*i lost her...damn it!!!

Hideki: Who's "her"?

* Nearby ruffling sounds alert Hideki again. He takes his shotgun and takes off the safety while looking around. *

Hideki: Rina, we should stop playing around already... I think we are surrounded.

[Raine]

*Rina is shaking her phone*

Rina:damn things!!!

*is not paying hideki much attention as she tries to get reception*

*Mike woke up early, Aki was still sleeping. Mike liked the smell of her hair, and her soft warmth...... He could bet use to this...... ya, someday. Mike carefully got up and left her sleeping. She needed the sleep, and he had things to get ready. There might be hell to pay when she woke up in his bed, but it was worth every bit of it. He figured Samuel world be better this morning, they could leave later today. The demons were less active in the daylight. Mike met Kelly at breakfast.*

Mike: How's Samuel, is he ready to travel today?

Kelly snorted: Ya, he can travel. A couple of the girls were feeding him breakfast. It's going to get interesting when they get finished. That priestess is trying to keep him in bed...... I stayed at Aki's house last night, I haven't seen her since she went to look for you.

Mike turned a bit red: She's at..... ah, she's still sleeping, she was really tired..... ummm, I have to get going, I have things to get ready.

Kelly: Ya, right....... You said you had a way to get to the city, how?

Mike: Ok, come along, I'll show you.

*Mike picked up his ax at his house and took Kelly out a small back gate and out to a cave in the hillside.*

Mike: I scavenged a truck and some guns from the wrecked military bases north of here. I was planning on getting back some day.

Kelly: A truck! Crap, the demons have taken out truck convoys with tanks for escort. And you think you're going to get us back with a truck?

Mike: Well, ya. A convoy is to slow, and tanks don't have enough firepower. *Mike rolled open a huge wooden door.* I think I can do better. How do ya like the Dragon Wagon?

Kelly stepped inside, her mouth dropped open: Holy crap, where did you come up with that?

*Mike had found one of the largest of the military trucks. A M985, 19 tons of 8 wheel drive all terrain truck. (http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/1774/m98500.png) Modified with the cargo bed enclosed with steel plates. On the front of the cargo bed was mounted an M134 minigun, the six barrel gun fires 600 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition per minute. On each side were gun ports with one M2 50 caliber machine gun and one MK19 40mm grenade gun per side. Mounted above the rear of the bed was the big gun, an M61 Vulcan cannon. Able to fire 6000 20mm rounds per minute.*

Kelly: You weren't kidding, this things a rolling fortress. And who did you think was going to crew this monster? Those little cat people weren't going to run that cannon.

Mike: well, I wasn't to sure about that, but you seem to have solved that for me. *Mike smiled* I've got almost ten tons of ordinance and MRE's and water for a week for eight people. There are a bunch of small arms too. But we should be able to make it back to the city in a few hours, barring any real problems.

Kelly laughed: Problems, there's no end to them.

*They got the guns and the truck ready to go, and Mike fired up the big diesel. Kelly took hold of the minigun, just in case as they rolled out and around to the front of the neko village.*

*Aki yawned and stretched as light filtered through her lids. She had the most wonderful sleep ever. Even in her dreams she had felt warm and protected. In her sleepy state of mind she wondered why. She pushed herself up slowly with one hand while the other rubbed the sleep from her eyes.*

*Aki surveyed her surroundings in a lazy way, her upper body propped on the bed by her arms. Then she was jolted wide awake when she noticed that she wasn't in the room Mai Lei had given her and that Toru wasn't with her. The room was familiar and as the reason sank in Aki scrambled off the bed she was laying on.*

Aki: What the--Okay...calm down Aki. You are in Mike's room. *A slight blush.* You were on his bed. *A deeper blush. She felt the rustle of her clothes and she examined herself. She released a sigh.* Sleeping. Just sleeping.

*Aki remembered what happened yesterday, what she and Mike talked about and his...confession. And that thing she did, it was a spell she hadn't heard of but she knew, somewhere inside her she knew the spell by heart. Also she felt the presence of Mike's mother and someone else, she figured they helped her.*

*A rumble of an engine brought her attention outside. Curious, Aki went to fix herself up before heading out. She peeked from around Mike's front entrance and slipped out unnoticed, or at least she thought she was unnoticed.*

Mai Lei: Ahem...

*Aki whirled around, hand on her heart. A blushed bloomed in her cheeks as she caught the gaze of both Mai Lei and Toru. They were wearing identical looks.*

Aki: Erm...ah--good...good morning. *Aki tried for a smile.*

Mai Lei: Good morning, indeed. You didn't return yesterday Lady Aki? Toru came to our house asking for you...

Aki: I...I slept with--I mean I stayed at Mike's house. I...I fell asleep you see. I was doing this spell and it made me sleepy so...I fell asleep. I guess Mike carried me to his house.

Mai Lei: I see...

Toru: Will Aki-san be sleeping with Mike-san now?

*Mai Lei choked on something invisible as Aki imitated a human tomato. Toru looked the picture of innocence as he waited for a response. With a lot of stuttering, giggling-that was from Mai- and coughing Aki had managed to explain what happened yesterday, omitting Mike's confession to her, and that she was going to be leaving with Mike, Kelly and Samuel. Mai expressed her sadness for her coming departure with Mike but wished them well. Toru bounced excitedly as he chattered on about the world outside the village. Aki stopped him.*

Aki: Toru-kun, you aren't coming.

Toru: What? *Toru stopped dead and stared at Aki, disbelief and caution in his eyes.*

Aki: It's going to be dangerous... *Aki recalled Mike's words to her when he though he could leave her, she twisted them for Toru.* You'll be safe with the neko. They're your kin.

Toru: But you...you're family! You...you can't leave me! *tears sprang in those sad eyes.*

Aki, feeling guilty: Toru-kun, it's not going to be easy. Remember that first time we came to the neko village? Remember those monsters? *Aki knelt in front of Toru so that she was eye level with him. He nodded.* It'll be worse. There are more monsters and I might not be able to protect you.

Toru, sniffling: But I can protect myself! I've been training, I'm good. I won't need to be watched all the time. I even helped when monsters tried to attack the village!

Aki: Toru-kun...

Toru: No! You want to leave me! You said...you said you would stay with me...liar! *Toru turned around and ran away, bumping a shocked Mai in the process.*

Aki: Wait, Toru-kun!

*Toru ignored her and continued to run away. Aki pursed her lips as she watched the shrinking figure. Mai put a comforting hand on Aki's shoulder.*

Mai Lei: He'll come back...don't worry, he knows not to go out of village boundaries.

Aki: But he thinks I don't like him...he thinks I'm leaving him.

Mai Lei: He'll realize what he said was wrong...don't worry yourself so much...oh my...what is that? *Aki followed Mai's gaze and her eyes widened. That was the truck Mike his in that cave, she followed him one time there. It was bigger than it first looked and it was loud.*

*It stopped near Mike's house. Kelly and Mike stepped out. Mike saw her so she instinctively went to his side, Mai followed closely behind.*

*Mike saw Aki coming his way, and braced himself. He was sure he'd get an ear full....... but he didn't regret a minute of it. But as Aki came next to him, Kelly climbed down from the truck.*

Kelly: Well Aki, nice to see you're up. *wicked smile* Did you have a good night?

*Before Aki could say anything, Samuel came up to the truck.*

Samuel: Holy Sh**!! Where did you get this? *In one bound he was on top of the truck, checking out the Vulcan cannon.* Hot damn!! Now this is a gun..... is it working?

Mike: It's all set to go, and there's about five tons of amo so there should be enough.

Samuel: Alright! *pats the gun* the gods must love me........ this one's mine.

Mike looked down at Aki: Ummmm I'm....... ah......*Mike couldn't think of how to say he was sorry, at least not with others around....... And, was he really sorry?* ..... We're going to have to leave soon, if we're going to get back. Have you talked to Toru? What are we going to do with him? It's going to be dangerous and.......

*Mike had thought about the little boy. He would like to have told Aki to bring Toru along, he really liked the kid, and since Aki had pretty much adopted Toru, he would let it up to her. But, it would be dangerous, even for Mike and Aki. And then there were her parents, Mike was worried enough about facing her dad himself. What would they think of her bringing a Neko boy? Could they accept Toru?*

*Aki looked up at Mike. It hurt her to think about Toru. Was she doing the right thing? She didn't want to leave him, but knew she had to. Aki could tell Mike felt the same way. She knew he was fond of Toru........... Maybe she should tell him how disappointed Toru was that Mike wasn't going to be his daddy.......... at least, not yet.*

*Toru was by the riverside brooding. He felt guilty for shouting at Aki and acting like a baby. He knew Aki loved him and that she wasn't a liar. She had become his foster mother and he was happy. She was even nicer than what he remembered of his mother, not to mention she cooked pretty well. Also he liked Mike. But if they were leaving...Toru sniffled, he felt tears in his eyes again. Aki said that he wouldn't come.*

Toru, talking to himself: It would be too dangerous she says. What about her and Mike-san? Won't it be dangerous to them too? And those two other people. *Toru pouted. He didn't want to be left in the Neko Village. Even though they weren't neko Toru considered Aki and Mike to his family and family never leaves each other.*

*With that in mind Toru stood up, a determined look on his face. He would go with Aki when she left. He would go...they didn't have to know until they were well away from the village. Toru would have to find a way to come without being known. With a nod headed back.*

*Mike wasn't happy that they were leaving Toru behind. He'd almost wished Aki would insist on bringing the boy along. Well, it couldn't be helped. Now they needed to gather their few belongings and get moving. It would be late enough by the time they arrived as it was. There were a lot of goodbyes to say.*

*Toru snuck around the milling group. So they were going to leave in the big truck Mike brought. All he had to do was hide somewhere on the truck until they got where they were going. While no one was looking, Toru quickly climbed up the side and in the door that had been left open. Toru was fascinated by the controls and levers, and the big steering wheel. He really wanted to play with all the controls, but he didn't have time, he had to hide. Toru crawled behind the passenger seat, hid his bow and arrows under the seat, and curled up.*

Mike: We really have to go now Aki. I know you're worried about Toru, but you know he can hide anywhere, and you'll never find him. He'll be just fine, Tan will find him and they'll be alright. Mai will take care of him, just as well as you would......... And, we'll come back, as soon as we can, I promise.

Aki: I wanted to say goodbye, I wanted him to understand.

Mai: He'll understand Aki. It might take a while, but he knows you love him. He'll be alright.

*Kelly ordered her two men to take the side guns, and Samuel to take the rear, she got up on the front gun. Mike helped Aki into the cab, climbed in and reached for the ignition.*

Mike: Aki, you know I don't want to leave Toru behind any more than you do. But neither of us want him in any danger. It's for the best, and we'll be back for him, as soon as this mess is over.

*The truck roared to life, Mike put on his com helmet and made sure he could talk to Kelly and Samuel, and the two soldiers. Mike smiled at Aki and put the truck in gear. The engine roared as they headed out. Come hell or high water, Mike was going to get them back to the city.*
