Farewell

Post by Sakura » May 16th, 2008, 3:37 pm

Heh I just got my new video card. At least I got a cute GF-7900 with 512 MB which is the best to fit into my computer. Since I quit smoking there is a lot of money I can spend on my computer (and partying :))

So I'm going to try installing this card on my own now (Olray is somewhat absent here)

Perhaps it's farewell for at least 3 days (until I get him fixing my machine, as usual hehe)

Replacing video cards is pretty simple. You shouldn't have any problems. The worst that could happen is that you just put your old card back in until Olray can poperly install it for you.

Good for you, Sakura. I've replaced a few video cards, and it usually isn't hard. just can be tedious to get the drivers and software set up. You usually need to go to add and remove software, remove all the drivers and software from the old card, shut down and replace the card, reboot and install the new drivers and software.

Now if I could just get this eSATA on this external enclosure to work. I'm down to believing there is something wrong with the enclosure hardware. Well at least the usb2 on it works fine, and it was only 20 bucks for the enclosure.

Even USB2 should give you 40-50 mb/second

at least mine do...

Hm I never considered inserting and installing a new card a difficult task, but I guess even easy procedures can go wrong.

Looking forward to the fun of attaching my new mainboard + cpu without re-installing my OS, perhaps it works.
