Is it ONLY Word attachments? If so, I blame M$ 
It's only on that client's machine and it's only DOC files.

It may be that they are trying to imbed the docs into the email instead of attaching them to the email.
Does the email still make it through without the doc attached? Or do you not get the email at all?

Heh the recipients email box was full. The webmail thingy is very bad at error reports
