Actually, its funny you should say that...Tho when it comes to PBS and Masterpiece Theatre, I kinda have to disagree on you there. As a person who appreciates film, I have to know my subject and know it well, including film history and all the different films. I did go to a film school for like three months(ran out of funds, lol) and so we study a lot. One film we looked at was Deep Throat and the impact it had on pop culture and both the film and porn industry. Like Debbi Does Dallas, it was part of pop culture at the time.oldwrench wrote:Funny that "educational" TV, like the public TV network can get away with just about anything. I've seen pretty close to straight out porn on in a few scenes masterpiece theater.
I'm not big on porn, I don't watch it. But I do and did know of these type of movies before. Sometimes, I guess a movies does have to call for nudity...I mean to be real, and getting back to where I was going with my point, when one watches a soap opera and the couple make love, the phone rings and they're fully dress in PJs?! really? they made love with they're pjs on!? So yeah, plus in Europe nudity isn't that big of an issue so of course programs like Masterpiece Theatre are gonna have it.
I'm not big on nudity but if a show or movie I like has it, oh well, I can get past it.
Sorry, lost my train of thought, sorry about all that, Where I live its a big liberal place ,so we have three local free speech channels, and one was talking about local strippers and prostitutes becoming unionize, so this program had a lot of nudity and this was like 3pm! So yeah go figure...We can't a woman's nipple for three seconds on the Superbowl, yet show commercials about ED!? Yeah gotta love the FCC.
