The first season is Licensed in the US so you can rent it via netflix or by it. It is very hard to find a fansub for it now. But after you watch it you need to download the second season (ni) to find out al the answers to the mystery.

I watched it on animeseason or something :3 It was perfectly fine 8D
My niece watched the first few episodes online as well, until I told her to stop watching it *became responsible all of a sudden* XD She's only fourteen and her parents would most definitely not appreciate her watching Higurashi

When I was fourteen my parents could [..consored...] so I did it anyways especially when they disagreed.

Yeah, well, her parents are... hard to describe XD Let's just keep it at that X3 I love them but they suck more often than not in my not-so-humble opinion
