Re: Why haven't (m)any Japanese actors taken the world stage?
I'm sure there are some specialist schools that teach you how to speak English like that at a younger age, but unless their parents are training them to be an actor starting then I guess it's kind of useless to hope one of those rare kids'll grow up to be an actor. Actors like Jackie Chan and Jet Li...

Why haven't (m)any Japanese actors taken the world stage?
Really, there's like no one who's really made it over here. Lack of talent? No one speaks English? Too shy? I was being silly and thinking of who'd be a good fit with one of the Japanese characters in one of my stories. These were my criteria Can pass themself off as 19, not too old, not too kiddy S...

Re: Becoming a novelist
I meant in terms of book categories, young adult category seems to be around 12 to 17. Knowing law is always good though . I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it.

Young adult = ???
Exactly how young is young adult? I wanted to write in the YA category (just a feeling that I'll have a better chance there) but I dunno whether to dumb my vocab down to a ~13 year old's level or just keep on going at my ~17 year old level.

Re: Becoming a novelist
That might be true, a literary agent or publisher may not take you seriously without something to write on your quiry. But then again, if they actually read a chapter from the manuscript of an unknown (some do) and it's decent, there's nothing to stop them from going ahead and representing you.

Re: Becoming a novelist
I'll give you a good critique if you do It might be better if you post a chapter at a time, lest a tl;dr is forced. I don't have much literary know-how, but if you're planning to take this seriously I can be an ass and tell you what parts I don't like, if there are any.
